‎What a Win for Lampard and Coventry!

‎ ‎Finally, Coventry City have done it. Their first Premier League win is here, and I honestly think this is a result that could mean a lot more to them than just the three points. ‎ ‎It has been a really difficult beginning for Frank Lampard and his players. Four games, no points and no goals is not the kind of start any newly promoted team wants. So going to the City Ground and coming away with a 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest must feel like a huge relief and I can see how happy they're after the final whistle. ‎

‎Source ‎ ‎The game itself was not easy for Coventry. Forest had their chances, especially in the first half, and there were moments when I felt the home side could eventually find a way through. Coventry, though, stayed in the game and waited for their opportunity. ‎ ‎That opportunity came in the 55th minute. ‎ ‎Carl Rushworth's long ball was excellent, and Jay Dasilva did the rest. His first touch took him away from Daniel Munoz before he calmly finished past Matz Sels. I was particularly happy for Dasilva because this was his first goal in 127 appearances for Coventry. What a time to finally get it! ‎ ‎After taking the lead, Coventry had to defend with everything they had. ‎ ‎Forest came looking for an equaliser and Igor Jesus came extremely close. Bobby Thomas produced one of those moments defenders dream about when he cleared Jesus' effort off the line. That could easily have changed the whole game. ‎ ‎Then came the late drama. ‎ ‎Jesus thought he had rescued a point for Forest in the 86th minute, but VAR intervened. After checking the replay, the referee decided that Jesus had fouled Caleb Yirenkyi before scoring. I can understand why Forest fans would be frustrated, but looking at the replay, I can also understand why the referee made the decision. ‎ ‎For Lampard, this must be a massive relief. But I like that he is not getting carried away. One win does not suddenly make the Premier League easy. Coventry still have plenty of work to do. ‎ ‎Still, you have to start somewhere. ‎ ‎After 25 years without a Premier League victory, Coventry finally have one again. The celebrations will be deserved, and hopefully this result gives the players the confidence to believe they can compete at this level. ‎ ‎Sometimes, one victory is all a team needs to start believing again. ‎ ‎For Coventry, maybe this is the beginning of something much better. ‎

1-0 at the City Ground? That’s a real result, especially after 25 years without a Premier League win.

Dasilva’s goal after 127 apps? That’s the kind of story that sticks. Not just a goal — a release valve for the whole squad.

Lampard’s not getting carried away either. “One win doesn’t make the PL easy” — that’s the right take. But yeah, you have to start somewhere.

Hope Forest fans don’t take it too hard. Bobby Thomas clearing that off the line? That was the difference.
