Looking at the name of this drama from how the visual imagery was presented and curated to how the plot was explained you immediately mistake the story for a generic plot-line where “very important elites” are the center of contention..but it would turn out to be a rather unrelated complex story plot in the making, where what previously appears to be glamour world luxury gradually levels out a much darker dimension
the Storyline
The story follows a couple of characters in a cooperative setting, of which the life story of major protagonist centers as the anchoring character for the film, in this setting Jang Na ra played by (Na jung sun) is married to Park sung hoon played by (Lee sang- yoon) and they are presented to be a power couple who are deemed to be an epitome of perfect marriage “jun son has everything you would want, on the vip team ..They work on this team together with thier co-worker whom are part of the employees for department store deag sun, this space sets the tone for where hidden secrets of affairs begins to unfold, the drama escalates with tensions right after an anonymous message sent to jung sun phone set disparities into her trust of the team people around her and admist this turmoil every single person has something to hide.
Review
The captivating factoring for me is how a “cooperate space” or rather a office setting seemed to have been able to capture the rawness of human sociology which is something i have been interested in lately, the depiction of such intimate context in such a space fascinates me, because it yet again highlights the existence of fragility and complexity in the inherent nature of man, a space so vast, structured and knowing is able to hold an image of man in all of rawness of form, where the exploration of romance, betrayal, ambition, ego and preservation all can exist
Another factor i am excited to highlight is the visual imagery of the mise-en-scene, as a lover of all things fashion and style, the production design and plots language was rather impressive to me, the concept of styling and merchandising as the plot base anchor would always be of interest to me, i love all of the little details the scene where able to capture and i think every little detail in the work that the characters did became a huge factor to telling the story of what merchandisers do, one of the drama most attractive elements is the polished timeless contemporary- classic feel it evokes and i really appreciate it
Another favorite part of the movie when it comes to my picking up of new code- of- conduct to life’s philosophy that really had nothing to do with the story itself and more so the concept of the characters jobs in the company, is the rather eye opening method work, the lenght at which the team went to do a great service to the job they did to be precise. A specific act where i had learned that merchandisers of this sort, also played such a big a role in the successful relational aptitude in a company,“they literally planned occasions for their clients and clients children” even though their job should technically have nothing to do with it, it was one of the most interesting details at the same time inspiring in the same breath to learn about that concept of work.
The entirety of the plot brings to light a more broader observation of life it self, appreance can hide reality, trust is more complex that juat right or wrong, people are often motivated by unseen wounds and the list may subjectively go on.
