When Nature Sets the Mood - Loh #312

Weather is one of the constant things we've had here on earth, and if I were to live in a place where the weather is kind of stable, would I like that, or would I prefer variety? To be honest, when it comes to weather, personally I'd love a touch of stability and some variety, and that's probably because of the part of the world where I live. Here in Nigeria we only have two seasons, unlike the four seasons in many experiences in different parts of the world. Here in Nigeria the weather is the rainy and dry season, which was almost evenly divided in the past; however, in recent years this isn't the case anymore, probably due to climate change, which has made the weather less predictable.

I'm sure you'll be wondering why I want a mix of those stability and variety. Well, the reasons are not far-fetched. Take for instance, I used to love predictable weather due to how it made it easy to plan my day, week, and entire life. When it would rain, I'm already aware and prepared, so the same is the case when there'll be intense heat, take for instance during the dry season. I love how I can wash my clothes and spread them on the line to be sub-dried without fear of rain falling while I'm away. Or me going out because I believe it's the dry season and going through the hold day with fear that it'll rain and get me wet because I didn't prepare by holding an umbrella.

In the same light, I actually also enjoy variety, especially given the fact that having to undergo the same weather every single day can be somewhat boring and annoying. Imagine being in the dry season for a month without rain, not to mention the six months it usually lasted. It's going to be painful and annoying because of the intense heat one would experience for those periods and the effects it could have on one's health. And that's why, even though I want some stability, I still enjoy variety.

Talking about my preferred weather season, though, given the two we have here in my country, I'll definitely be choosing the cooler and less humid part of the dry season, and that's because it's in those periods that I'm usually at my happiest with the weather. My best wealth is when everything is just in-between; neither the intense sun nor heavy rainfall dominates. I'm usually happy when I wake up in the morning and see the weather is cool and calm; it makes me feel at peace and move comfortably around the neighborhood without worrying about being drenched by rain or beaten by the sun.

One thing I've come to notice is that my preferred weather is somewhat related to my personality, given the fact that I enjoy being in a peaceful environment so that I'll be able to relax well if I'm at home to think, write, watch movies and the like or do other things and if at work, be able to give my best without the weather being too harsh to affect my output.

Seems majority of people love it when the weather is cool and not too much sun, that’s how I love too. Sometimes I wish there won’t be dry seasons at all, due to the hotness that comes with it, but then, it’s not possible because the two seasons are important.
