Hi everyone! This Saturday, a beer festival took place at our local brewery in Sokolov. The brewery is celebrating 20 years since brewing its first beer this year, so we couldn't miss the event and decided to check it out.
The entrance fee was a reasonable 60 CZK. They offered the brewery's full range of beers, pouring from about 15 taps. Beer was exchanged for tokens that had to be purchased in advance. A token pack cost 280 CZK, which gave you either 6 tokens for small beers (0.3L) or 4 tokens for large ones. We went for small beers so we could sample as many different kinds as possible.
There was a huge turnout, and as the evening went on, more and more people arrived.
The venue also featured several food and coffee stalls.
As part of the program, there were team competitions and even a stein-chugging contest (1-liter beer mugs!), and several musical bands performed on stage.
After watching the competitions, we sat down on a blanket in the shade and enjoyed our beer tasting.
We kept buying extra tokens, and with our last two, we got our favorite 12° draft beer to go and headed home.🙂
