Monthly Recap: October 2026 - ALL IN.... 29 Hive :´)

We were all taken by surprise by the announcement of the largest cryptocurrency theft in history! It’s true—Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, serving over 320 million registered users in more than 180 countries, suffered a highly sophisticated attack attributed to TraderTaitor, also known as the Lazarus Group, an elite unit linked to North Korea, which was quickly confirmed by the FBI.

More than 6.3 trillion literally vanished from the control of the world’s most famous exchange.

By exploiting a security flaw in one of the company’s employees’ laptops, they created an additional security breach that allowed them to access the hot wallet using a multi-signature protocol and execute transactions in a matter of seconds, draining assets across ten different blockchains in just over 20 minutes.

In response to this historic attack, Binance temporarily suspended all deposits and withdrawals from its network.

As luck would have it, I have a few thousand Hive on Binance, which were earning some compound interest—nothing special. And so, I had planned to make this transaction in the last few days of October. It happened to fall right after the biggest attack in the history of cryptocurrency!

In other words, while in previous months I’d always managed to do a power-up with 1,000 Hive, this time I was forced to do the power-up using only the net amount of Hive I had at that moment...

But I’ll stop whining—life goes on.

How are you all doing? How was your October? The world has seen many wars drag on, along with internal conflicts in many European countries, and it seems that some of them were actually instigated by “external forces” to lead to chaos, internal disorder, and democratic division. I’m sure there are many politicians who are happy with the instability we’re seeing these days all over the world—and here on the old continent of Europe as well!

In my country, there’s currently a standoff between the government and a group of protesters (with ties to far-left parties) who are taking advantage of what is supposed to be a peaceful demonstration to incite disorder, violence, and disrespect for the authorities… Which, in turn, leads to yet another aggressive response from the national security forces. It’s quite a spectacle, I assure you. And it all stems from the current hardships caused by the rising cost of living and the skyrocketing prices of home purchases and rents in major urban centers.

But now I’m going to talk a little bit about Hive!

This month I gained seven more followers! That’s the real reward here in the community. Only by building a network of connections—with genuine interconnections—can Hive one day aspire to achieve a status that places it among the largest social networks, and one that’s even recorded on the blockchain... With this minor setback of not being able to move my Hive balance from Binance, I ended up with 31,862 staked Hive this month, which is approximately 4.3%... Let's see if I can do a little better next month, and with the quality of my posts, at least achieve a 5% increase in my Hive in the vault!
