Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good morning, friends and music lovers!
Welcome to another weekly edition of TTT, which aims to celebrate the day when yet another artist marks another year of life.
And today, I’m here to introduce a great artist who founded one of the leading American funk and soul bands in 1968, called the Commodores. Thomas McClary, an American musician, guitarist, and vocalist, went on to stand out just as much as his bandmates, and brought us several hits that we can still hear today on a radio playlist featuring that musical genre from the 1970s and 1980s.
The funk style came to dominate the global music scene to some extent. The beat changes at the end of each verse, accompanied by a truly infectious rhythm.
For today, I’ve chosen three songs that moved me the most and that showcase some of the musical diversity the group possessed. Their melodic voices have always been one of the group’s greatest strengths, setting them apart in a big way.
How’s your week going? Here in Portugal, it’s only “going to” start today. That’s because yesterday was a national holiday, and it just so happened to fall on a Monday.
I have to admit I’m not very well-rested, since on Saturday and Sunday I was helping organize an event with over 100 people, where I was in charge of logistics. There was some planning involved, but plenty of last-minute adjustments, since there were changes to the registrations. But what would life be without a little challenge?
Yesterday, even though it was a holiday, I still had to go pack up the event supplies and clean up my organization’s headquarters… in other words, another day when I couldn’t get any rest…
This week I’ll also be without my car for practically the entire time, since it’s going into the shop today for repairs. Yet another challenge that’s forcing me to make some changes to my daily routine, since I have to adjust to schedules that are bound to change.
Have a great week, everyone!
Bem Hajam🍀
