Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good evening, friends!
How’s your week going? It’s the last one of the month… We’re less than two months away from Christmas. It’s unbelievable how fast time flies. I always heard my parents say that when I was little, but now I fully understand what they meant.
I think we feel this way because when we spend our time juggling various tasks—which eventually become routine—we gradually pay less and less attention to the small details. Meanwhile, our minds wander down all-too-familiar “mental paths,” eventually slipping into a trance that leaves us somewhat numb, without a true sense of the things constantly happening around us.
Today, Tuesday—and as one would expect—I bring you yet another birthday celebrant.
Today, as he celebrates his 68th birthday, the English singer who was part of one of modern music’s most beloved projects—Simon Le Bon—began his journey to stardom—just imagine, at the age of 6—with a television commercial for a famous laundry detergent, which became very popular. In addition to that debut, Simon also sang in church choirs as a young man and even took acting lessons—can you believe it?
But no. Neither as a singer of sacred music nor as an actor did Simon make his mark—instead, he stood out as the iconic lead singer of the band Duran Duran. And who doesn’t remember the many smash hits from this English pop-rock band?
Here are some songs I’ve carefully selected from their vast repertoire—ones that, in particular, mean something extra to me or give me a boost of energy!
And what about you—how does Duran Duran make you feel? Have you listened to them your whole life, or did you discover them later in life? Tell me all about it in the comments section—feel free to share a bit about your week, too, if you’d like.
And as for Christmas gifts… It seems like this is really the best time to make them. I’m going to try to take advantage of this lull to make some of them—especially for the kids in the group!
Thank you for letting yourselves be carried away by these three tracks I chose, and thank you for your support and kindness. I promise to respond to all your questions or comments on this post, but it might take me longer than I’d like.
Hugs to everyone, and have a great week!
