Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Another Tuesday, another birthday 🎂
It’s been this way for over 110 editions—112 weeks, to be exact! 🎼
It seems like it was just “yesterday” that I began this “challenge” of searching through the list of musicians, performers, and composers from the day of publication, looking for someone who would either pique my curiosity—since I didn’t know them yet—or bring back fond memories I had of that star.
Today, October 13, in the year 1941—85 years ago—in New York City, one of the greatest stars of the global music scene was born. Acclaimed not only by his peers and fellow artists but by just about everyone, Paul Frederic Simon would come to be forever recognized for his dazzling collaboration with Art Garfunkel, whom he met at his elementary school in 1953!
With their blend of folk and rock—and a very clean, upbeat musical style—Simon and Garfunkel went on to influence generation after generation. Legions of fans follow their work and develop a strong connection with them.
As for his solo work, Paul showcases a more soulful, reggae, and gospel-influenced style.
Next, I’m going to share three songs that bring back many fond memories from the times I first heard them—songs that always make me want to listen to them again, no matter how many times I’ve heard them or how long ago that was.
And you—how much do you admire Paul? Do you also feel energized when you hear his songs? Do they take you back in time and let you leave the day’s troubles behind, even if just for a few moments?
Share with me in the comments the emotions and memories that this great star of the music world brings to life for you!
The post goes for Three Tune Tuesday challenge run by @ablaze. Don't be a stranger, and join the musical weekly ride!
