Walking along the Perimetral Avenue Coastal Path has become one of my favorite activities, not only because it helps me feel better, but also because the views are so pleasant. The beautiful sunsets lift the spirit when viewed with passion, and that feeling is truly fulfilling for me.
Recently, a Catholic gathering was held to offer prayers to God, asking Him to intercede for the victims of the earthquake that occurred on June 24; many people attended the event, coming together with great faith. I liked it because it was a simple and moving ceremony.
The event was held in the area marked “Yo ❤️ Cumana” and began at 6:30 p.m. It was also attended by the highest episcopal authority in Sucre State, Monsignor Ángel Francisco Caraballo, as well as several local priests and representatives from the city’s most well-attended churches.
Many local radio stations broadcast the event, given its significance for our brothers and sisters who suffered—and continue to suffer—from these devastating earthquakes. This collective prayer was organized by the Episcopal Palace of Sucre State, and the turnout was good. There were even people from other towns participating in this initiative.
I stayed for a while at the Mass and then continued enjoying my usual walk, along with others who were doing the same; some were jogging or riding their bicycles. This outing not only gave me a chance to exercise but also to soothe my soul and pray for so many people affected by the disaster.
