❄️ My ethereal cover of beloved Christmas Classic "Walking in the Air" and BLESSED YULE everyone. Happy Holidays and best wishes for 2026

Winter is here... Blessed Yule everyone... It's Winter's Solstice The longest night of the year and then light will be reborn in longer days. It was also my birthday just some days ago (16th). So this time of the year I always curl inwards, in deep introspection. As the longest night of the year wraps its arms around us, Yule whispers of a quiet, powerful truth: even in the darkest moments, light is returning. Winter isn't just a season of cold and stillness, it's a pause, a moment to reset and reflect. Everything has a reason in Nature, even resting. Just as the days slowly begin to stretch longer now on, this is our time to plant seeds for the future, to nurture the habits, ideas, and intentions we wish to see grow. I gifted myself a new bullet journal for my birthday to start afresh next 2026.

It was my birthday a few days ago and I wanted to wrap the year with a seasonal special

I'm a December child, my birthday was 16th and thanks everyone who reached out to me on all socials, and as we get close to the solstice and wrap the year, his time always invites to introspection and how I wrap the year. So I want to say thanks to everyone for supporting my musical journey. Yet even if short I like to share a seasonal Christmas special this year so here it is :) filmed and recorded some weeks ago during the first snow.

So here a little seasonal special :) "Walking in the Air" One day I may cover the full song but as Christmas, Yule, closing of the year special, here is a little snippet and first verses of one of my favorite carols, "Walking in the Air"

I really hope you like it, maybe full version in the future. For now I hope you enjoyed my shorter version. This is my soft, ethereal lullaby take on “Walking in the Air" the iconic song from The Snowman (1982) composed by Howard Blake and peformed by the angelic child's voice of Peter Auty in the original movie, a beloved seasonal animation classic I enjoyed so many times as a child. There are several covers and versions but for me nothing beats the original version included in the movie score. And with this I continue to revisit (for fun) little tributes to things that were dear to me as a child and shaped me as an artist.

WALKING IN THE AIR (2025 Christmas special)

I think this is a song that embody so much the beauty of winter, something recurrent in my own music as you may now. The film is a quiet winter tale about a child and a snowman who comes to life for one magical night, with beautiful hand drawn animation based on Raymond Briggs' picture book (1978) of the same name.

The song itself accompanies their flight through the frozen sky, capturing that feeling of weightlessness, innocence, and the fragile magic of winter dreams. It has since become a timeless piece, associated with snow, stillness, and childhood awe. The animation sequence made entirely by hand drawn animation is a beautiful example of traditional HUMAN art, and the aerial camera angles are mesmerizing. The song ends up with them arriving to a landspace with pines and Northern Lights, and it's maybe this moment where I first remember to wonder about auroras. As you know I have a song called "Northern Lights" and it's a dream of mine to watch one. So maybe this movie is an early memory that triggered that longing to behold an aurora.

My version is a humble tribute: whispered, slow, and dreamlike, imagining those first moments of rising into the night air, where fear melts into trust and the world below fades into silence. It was filmed by the cabin during the first snow of the season some weeks ago.

It's the first winter without pitichoos (my hens) so it feels specially lonely there, I hope to go back in Spring and better weather to spend some time creating and recording next year.

Here a still from the short, filmed some weeks ago during the first snow this late Autumn

## Lyrics (just of the part I sing)

Walking in the air

We’re floating in the moonlit sky The people far below are sleeping as we fly I’m holding very tight I’m riding in the midnight blue I’m finding I can fly so high above with you

Above: me while filming "Walking in the Air" this late Autumn, 2025. The cabin feels very desolate without the hens but when the weather allows next year I want to come up here to record and finish some songs. What are your plannings for the winter holidays?

I'm not religious so for me it's always about the return of longer days...

Winter is the bringer of light

we got it all wrong... Winter is the BRINGER OF LIGHT... by the way one of my personal favorite songs of mine is "Cold Winter" and though Winter is depicted as harsh, it is also the most ethereal season, I curl inwards in introspection this time of the year. What about you? What are your plans?

May 2026 bring you all you wish for :) I'll come back before year ends because I want to make a list of Christmas movies I recommend :), would you like that?

Here a playlist with all my Winter, Yule and Christmas Specials so far

Something that feels like home - by Priscilla Hernandez (yidneth.com).jpg

It's been a couple of really complicated years for me, and I still proceed at a pace that is too slow, but I understand I must also be kind to myself and know my best is enough. I'm happy I'm still inspired and I still find joy singing and creating music. Like the earth beneath the snow, there's potential in every quiet moment, waiting to burst forth when the time is right. Winter is harsh as I sing in my song "Cold Winter" but it also honours the quiet growth happening within, preparing for the springtime bloom of our own becoming like I sing in my original song "Longing to bloom". You'll find them both on Spotify. I've also made a Winter (but not Christmas) seasonal playlist. You'll find some of my songs but also many other ethereal odes to the most ethereal season Grateful if you follow me on spotify or apps, you can find me as Priscilla Hernandez on all.

You are calling the spirits of Christmas @yidneth. Do you know much haunting and magical feeling you have embedded in this cover? You sound enchanting like a fairy or any magical creatures. You are like Aurora who sang Runaway. I love your voice 🌞

    It's beautifully done!

That's lovely. It is a haunting song even if it does get played a lot at this time of year. We've not had proper snow here yet this winter, but then we rarely get much.

    Have a lovely Christmas.
