It's been so long since I made an addition to my infinity bottle......
The GlenDronach revival 15YO is a Highland single malt matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It has definite citrus, lightly roasted coffee and chocolate aromas with some woodiness from the cask. The flavours explode on the tongue starting with honey sweetness which melts quickly into oranges and ends up as toffee cake such is the length of this whisky. There's no peat to speak of and this is part of the reason I added it to my infinity bottle (check my first and second posts to see what I put in initially).
This time I did not pair a cigar as I just wanted a quiet drink. I imagine a light cigar like a Davidoff No. 2 would go very well, the hazelnut swertnus of the cigar would pair well with the citrus honey from this whisky but I'm just guessing.
Enjoy !
