Introduction
I have never been a big fan of songs in English, as I feel there is too much good music in Spanish, and I also identify a lot with Latin rhythms and the music of my country. But, of course, there are many exceptions.
Whoever knows me even a little bit knows my weakness for the trombone and wind instruments. A good horn section always hooks me, especially when it is backed by a funk groove—a rhythm I find extremely enveloping and contagious.
All of this makes one of my favorite English-language groups: Earth, Wind & Fire. And it is from them that I bring my three songs today to share in our friend @ablaze's #ThreeTuneTuesday.
I hope you enjoy it!
1. Boogie Wonderland
I begin with one of their many tracks that have become an anthem: "Boogie Wonderland." The video corresponds to their peak era, when they still featured the unmistakable presence of the project's creator and star singer, Maurice White. For this song, they collaborated with the female vocal group The Emotions. It is a prime example of the spectacular visual image that always characterized the band, with their psychedelic and vibrant style.

2. September
This version was recorded many years after the original, at the Montreux Jazz Festival. On this occasion, Philip Bailey shines. He joined the band in 1972 and has been a standout figure in many of their hits. He possesses an exceptional vocal range, which is part of the hallmark that has distinguished Earth, Wind & Fire.

3. Shining Star
This is one of the songs that achieved the highest position on the US radio charts.
Here, they perform it alongside another band from their same hometown, which also stands out for a powerful horn section: Chicago.
