Splinterlands: My Earth Team Takes Down Thaldris in Just 4 Rounds!

Hi Splinterlands lovers it's @zoe01 here again with another Modern ranked battle. Today I am going to share a match where I used my Earth team once again and faced a player named THALDRIS. After winning my previous battle I wanted to see if I could continue winning with the same element. But this time I decided to change some of my monsters and see how they will perform together. The match ended much faster than my previous one and I was quite happy with the result hehe. Let's see what happened!

Battle Rules

The battle had a mana cap of 50 and the modifier was Standard which means there were no special rules to follow. There were no second or third modifiers either. All six elements were available including fire water earth life death and dragon. I had 50 mana to spend on my monsters which was a little more than my previous battle. I thought about trying another element but ended up choosing Earth again because I wanted to use some different cards this time. Let's take a look at my team.

My Team Selection

For this battle I selected Aurelia as my summoner and picked 6 monsters to fight against my opponent.

My Team

Summoner: Aurelia

1st Position: Dread Tafarian (Melee attack)

2nd Position: Mad Gearhead (Melee attack)

3rd Position: Vengeful Monk (Melee attack)

4th Position: Great Bear Druid (Magic + Melee attack)

5th Position: Kicking Roc (Ranged attack)

6th Position: Kanaaq Miner (Melee attack)

I placed Dread Tafarian in the first position because I wanted it to face my opponent's attacks first. Mad Gearhead was placed right behind it and Vengeful Monk took the third position. For the fourth position I selected Great Bear Druid while Kicking Roc was placed fifth. Finally I put Kanaaq Miner in the last position.

Unlike my previous battle I didn't use Spellmonger or Giam Root this time. I wanted to see how this lineup would perform without them. I was a little worried about my front monsters because they would be taking most of the damage. But I thought the other monsters might be able to handle things if something went wrong. Well there was only one way to find out hehe.

The Battle

My opponent for this match was THALDRIS and he had selected a different team with a few familiar monsters. I noticed that he was also using Mad Gearhead and Kanaaq Miner. His first monster had 12 Health and 5 Armor which made me wonder how long it would take to defeat it. Meanwhile my Dread Tafarian was standing in front ready to take the first attacks.

The battle started and both teams began attacking. My opponent's front monster was quite difficult to get through because of its Armor and Health. I was watching how quickly my monsters were losing Health and wondering if I had made the right decision with my lineup. But slowly his monsters were also taking damage and some of them started disappearing from the battlefield.

By Round 3 things had changed a lot. My Dread Tafarian and Mad Gearhead were still standing, still undefeated. Thankfully they were still alive and my other three monsters were also standing behind it. On the other side THALDRIS had only three monsters remaining.

I was actually surprised that my team had already defeated so many of his cards. His remaining monsters were damaged too and I started thinking that maybe this battle wouldn't take much longer. I just needed my other monsters to keep attacking hehe.

When Round 4 arrived my opponent was already in a difficult situation. He had only one monster left and it had just 3 Health remaining. Meanwhile I still had six monsters on my side. Vengeful Monk was standing with 5 Health while Great Bear Druid and my other monsters were still ready to fight.

At this point I was pretty confident that my team would finish the battle. And thankfully that's exactly what happened! My opponent's last monster was defeated and I managed to win the match in only 4 rounds. I wasn't expecting such a quick victory because my previous Earth battle had lasted 8 rounds lol. 😂

After winning the match I received 81 Glint and gained 20 rating points. My total rating increased from 240 to 260 in Division 9. It was nice to see another victory added to my battle history.
