You never know what you will see in NYC

Walking around NYC, one never knows what you will see, case in point is as I was heading out for lunch the other day and was about to walk up the stairs to Tudor City and looked up and this is what I saw

At first, I had to look again I wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me, Sure I have seen the Mounted Police riding their horses around the city at times, but seeing a White horse at the end of 41 St Street is something I had not seen before. so I continued up the stairs, and sure enough, it was a real horse, so I took a few shots of it, Starting with this shot of the full horse

When I got closer I zoomed in a for this close in shot, I am not really a horse person, but this looked like a beautiful one to me.

And then he turned and looked at me almost posing for this shot

NOw Like me you may be wondering what was this horse doing there in Tudor City, well the lady holding the reigns of the horse was explaining to the onlookers, that it was there for a photo shoot for some fashion company that was taking place around the corner on the road over 42nd Street, and betwene shoots she was walking it around the block for a break, kind of funny I thought that after hearing that the people still asked if they could get some selfies taken with the horse. I decided not to get a selfie with he horse, mainly because it is so beautiful, would be a shame for me to be in a photo with is and spoil the beauty of the scene :)

I agree, you never know what you might come across in NYC. You are very energetic my friend, walking a lot around the city and taking a lot of pictures. You always find interesting murals... now a horse... what’s next? You gotta tell us the secret. 😉

This animal is beautiful. The shot of him posing for the picture probably comes natural as he is just warming up for the photo shoot.

Now that is something you don't see every day! lol. I wonder what company was doing the photo shoot. It sounds like an odd "prop" for a city fashion company, but who knows?

It reminds me of the time I was in a small town and there was a random guy with a hawk on his arm.

Great shots as always Jay. Upvoted. Somewhere, (if I haven't deleted it) I have a photo of a Horse on the sidewalk in a neighborhood in Atl., a place You would certainly not expect to find one. I think it was there for a party, or perhaps some movie Shooting.

One - that horse is awesome. Two - the first picture looks like it is some mythical beast that has appeared out of the forest to guide you on a spirit quest. (Except of course that this is in the middle of the city).

Beautiful white horse indeed. We have Mounted Police over here nearby my neighborhood as well. But just like what you said, seeing a white horse is rare.

One of my favourite things when I am in London is being at the London Library on the third floor where I hide away and it looks down on St. James Square and the mounted bobbies clip clop by. That sound of the hooves on the old brick pavers is instantly 19h century to me.
