This bird doesn't have much in common with the Swedish furniture giant other than its name. The Kea is the world's only alpine parrot and is a force to be reckoned with! They're known for stealing tourists belongings and have even been known to break off parts of cars and fly away with them! We had several nibbling on our van one night when we stayed near Mt. Cook. FYI that's Mt. Cook in the background of this picture.
