I’ll Tell You How The Sun Rose
I’ll tell you how the sun rose, -
A ribbon at a time.
The steeples swam in amethyst,
The news like squirrels ran.
The hills untied their bonnets,
The bobolinks begun.
Then I said softly to myself,
"That must have been the sun!"
But how he set, I know not.
There seemed a purple stile.
Which little yellow boys and girls
Were climbing all the while
Till when they reached the other side,
A dominie in gray
Put gently up the evening bars,
And led the flock away.

Lied der Sonne
Ich bin die Mutter Sonne und trage
die Erde bei Nacht, die Erde bei Tage.
Ich halte sie fest und strahle sie an,
dass alles auf ihr wachsen kann.
Stein und Blume, Mensch und Tier,
alles empfängt sein Licht von mir.

I had a short but very busy day in the office today and was too lazy to write a lot today, but what could I write that the words of a beautiful poem couldn't do much better? I did a night hike to the summit of the Hochstadel on that day and as a reward I was able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise all by myself. | Ich hatte heute einen kurzen, aber sehr anstrengenden Tag im Büro und war dann zu faul, viel zu schreiben, aber was könnte ich schreiben, das die Worte eines schönen Gedichtes nicht viel besser könnten? Ich habe an diesem Tag eine nächtliche Wanderung auf den Gipfel des Hochstadel gemacht und durfte dort als Belohnung ganz allein einen wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang genießen. |
