These two test photos are all I brought home yesterday.

This is the Soča River, the emerald green river in the Soča Valley in Slovenia. I took two test shots and then wanted to take pictures ... but I should tell everything in order:

Das ist der Soča Fluss, der smaragdgrüne Fluss im Sočatal in Slowenien. Ich habe zwei Testaufnahmen gemacht und wollte dann fotografieren ... aber alles schön der Reihe nach:

Yesterday I planned to take a couple of waterfall photos and maybe take pictures of ice and icicles again. Because I thought it might be colder in the Soča Valley than at home, I went there in the morning. Unfortunately it was too warm there too and it rained pretty heavily.

When I drove past the path to the Mlinarica waterfall, it stopped raining and I took advantage of the rain break and rushed to the waterfall. Because of the rainy past few days, the waterfall had grown large and mighty and roared down over the rocks. I was looking forward to some cool photos - too early, because the Mlinarica brook had swelled and become a raging river. I didn't have a chance to get across the stream without getting very wet, or maybe even getting carried away by the water and completely wet. To be able to photograph the waterfall from the front, you have to be on the other side of the stream, but safety comes first and that's why I went back towards the car.

Shortly before the bridge over the Soča, I wanted to photograph the river and the confluence of the roaring Mlinarica stream with the Soča.

Gestern hatte ich geplant, wieder einmal ein paar Wasserfälle und vielleicht auch Eis und Eiszapfen fotografieren. Weil ich mir dachte, dass es im Sočatal vielleicht kälter ist als bei uns, bin ich am Morgen dorthin gefahren. Leider war es auch hier zu warm und es hat ziemlich stark geregnet.

Als ich am Weg zum Mlinarica Wasserfall vorbeigefahren bin, hat es zu regnen aufgehört und ich habe die Regenpause genützt und bin zum Wasserfall gelaufen. Wegen des Regens der letzten Tage war der Wasserfall groß und mächtig geworden und toste über den Felsen herunter. Ich freute mich auf ein paar coole Fotos - zu früh, denn auch der Mlinarica Bach war angeschwollen und nun zu einem reißenden Fluss geworden. Ich hatte keine Chance, über den Bach zu gelangen, ohne bis zum Bauch nass, oder vielleicht sogar mitgerissen und vollkommen nass zu werden. Um den Wasserfall von vorne fotografieren zu können, muss man auf die andere Seite des Baches, aber Sicherheit geht vor und deshalb bin ich wieder zurück in Richtung Auto gegangen.

Kurz vor der Brücke über die Soča wollte ich den Fluss und auch noch die Einmündung des tosenden Mlinarica Baches in die Soča fotografieren.

While I was taking the two test photos, it started to dribble again, then the sky opened its floodgates again and unfortunately I had to flee. It rained the rest of the day and the two test photos became the only ones of the day.

Während ich die beiden Testfotos gemacht habe, hat es wieder mehr zu tröpfeln begonnen, dann hat der Himmel wieder seine Schleusen geöffnet und ich musste leider flüchten. Es hat den ganzen restlichen Tag geregnet und aus den beiden Testfotos sind die einzigen des Tages geworden.

The next day, which is today, it was even worse, but that's another story ...

Am nächsten Tag, also heute, ist es noch schlechter gelaufen, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte ...

Fine, fast river. A sweet waterfall ... a real refreshment for the month of July. Is the water very cold? Did he squash his legs. I would certainly do that ..🤭@johannpiber😊 Have a nice evening. And that a lot of snow will fall soon.🤗

the rain has almost paused for this week, but I have no intention to make the pics till today. get out (I had to make a visit to the publisher), borrowed the camera... to understand I have no card in it. so, I have brought back home 2 less pics than you! lets make a cocktail: !BEER + !COFFEEA + !DERANGED, maybe it will happen to have a weak consolation qualities?..
