We departed from Manali at 5 AM in morning and started our journey towards Rohtang Pass.
It was a cheerful day with fog and mist all around.
After crossing Rohtang Pass we entered Lahol Spiti Distt. of Himachal Pradesh. Now we could see the marvelous view of mountains covered with snow .The fog was slowly rising above as the temperature was rising.
We reached a place called Gramphu after travelling down from Rohtang pass. From Gramphu we took right turn towards Spiti valley. The other road was towards Leh.
Now we were following a road which was made along the river Chandra that took us deeper in Spiti valley. The above picture shows river Chandra and majestic mountains of Spiti valley.
The road was a road for the sake of name only. In reality it was a very dangerous path termed as road. On one side there were loose rocks and on the other side there was a deep cliff. The above snap depicts the condition of road on which we were travelling.
Our destination for that day was Chandratal Lake situated at the height of 4300m. We reached at the camps at about 1 in the afternoon. The camp was situated at a fantasy location . There were mountains all around covered with snow. The above picture shows the camps and the snow capped mountains .
The lake was situated 3-4 kms from camps. After resting for some time we went towards the lake. The above picture was taken on the way to Chandratal Lake.
This was a place about which people dream about .The above picture shows the beauty of the mountains surrounding Chandratal Lake.
Following are the pictures taken at the majestic Chandratal Lake.
The lake was blue colored and resembled the color of sky . Standing there between two blue heavens was a memorable experience.
The water of the Chandratal Lake was super clear. There was no sign of and human interference there and the water was drinkable straight out of lake.
Apart from a few humans there were some horses and sheep there too. Above and below are the pictures of those animals.
After spending some time there we went back to camps and spent a night there .It was a memorable experience.
Next day we headed towards Kunzum Pass that connected Kaza with Manali and Lahol. The road was very dangerous there. In the above picture we can see the condition of road.
This picture was taken at the Kunzum Mata Temple, a Temple situated at the height of 4600m . Big majestic mountains were visible from there and the mountains had a dreamy shine due to morning sunshine. The above picture depicts the scene.
From here we went back to Manali and that was end of our trip. The picture below is taken on the way back to Manali at Rohtang pass.
