On Saturday, June 14 the next meeting of the Practical Philosophy Club will again take place at the Kingdom (Biskupia St. 18/1). This time, we the topic is "gender roles". The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m., and the discussion will be held in English. Admission, as always, is free.
• Are gender roles natural or socially constructed? • What are the characteristics that makes one role a stronger fit to a specific gender than another? • Is the purpose of gender roles for stability of society, or control of it? Or something else? • Do gender roles limit personal expression? • Is rejecting gender roles a necessary responsibility or does it lead to instability if enough people do it? • How do gender roles evolve with technology and culture? • Are a lot of gender roles being fulfilled out of a source of pride, as opposed to actual utility? (i.e. men refusing to do the dishes) • Examples of times you went outside of typical gender roles and what happened
