At the beginning of February, when I began learning this piece, I was absolutely obsessed with it. Today, I don't know what to say about it besides I still enjoy it very much, but not so much I don't want to spend as much time on it as if I were preparing it for a competition or concert.
Maybe this just gets someone interested in Rachmaninoff - that's a noble enough aspiration, right?
*my Henle Urtext's preface advises Op. 33 originally had nine etudes, but at the last second nos. 3-5 were removed. Hence, before the revision, Allegro con fuoco here was no. 7, then became no. 4. That's what I understand after just skimming the preface, anyway.
