Aquรญ estoy de nuevo con una nueva reseรฑa que , รบltimamente andaba un poco perdida de todos lados pero ya saben, el trabajo convencional me consume casi todo mi tiempo y hablando de tiempo, quise aprovechar este ratito libre para hablar de una pelรญcula que vi el otro dรญa en Netflix llamada: Somnia: Antes de despertar.
Buscando que ver me tope con esta pelรญcula que decรญan estaba infravalorada asรญ que decidรญ darle una oportunidad. Vi el trailer y realmente me convenciรณ lo que vi ya que parecรญa bastante espeluznante y , como muchos saben, adoro las pelis de horror y no podรญa dejar pasar oportunidad de ver esta.
Antes de empezar, no contare nada mas allรก de lo que se ve claramente en el trailer pero por las dudas, doy alerta de spoilers, sutiles pero nunca esta de mas je,je,je.

Here I am again with a new review that , lately I was a little lost from everywhere but you know, conventional work consumes almost all my time and speaking of time, I wanted to take advantage of this little free moment to talk about a movie I saw the other day on Netflix called: Somnia: Before I wake up.
Looking for what to watch I stumbled upon this movie that they said was underrated so I decided to give it a chance. I saw the trailer and was really sold on what I saw as it looked pretty creepy and , as many know, I love horror movies and couldn't pass up a chance to see this one.
Before I start, I won't tell anything beyond what is clearly seen in the trailer but just in case, I give spoiler alert, subtle but it never hurts he,he,he,he.

- Trama/Plot:
La historia de centra en 3 personas: Jessie, Mark y Cody. Los primeros dos deciden adoptar un niรฑo (Cody) despuรฉs de la perdida del suyo biolรณgico pero Cody tiene un problema: Tiene pavor a dormir. Jessie y Mark creen que el niรฑo esta traumado por todo lo que viviรณ al perder a su madre y vivir en un orfanato para ser adoptado y abandonado por otras familias pero, las cosas se ponen feas cuando descubren que en realidad,

The story focuses on 3 people: Jessie, Mark and Cody. The first two decide to adopt a child (Cody) after the loss of his biological one, but Cody has a problem: he is afraid to sleep. Jessie and Mark believe that the boy is traumatized by everything he went through when he lost his mother and lived in an orphanage to be adopted and abandoned by other families, but things get ugly when they discover that in reality, Cody is afraid to sleep because his dreams literally come true. So far it seemed all rosy until the couple realizes that Cody doesn't want to sleep because not only his dreams materialize but also his nightmares.

Desde el principio me atrapo. Generaba un ambiente interesante donde se reflejaban las emociones humanas de una madre en estado puro despuรฉs de perder a su pequeรฑo hijo en un accidente y que, de alguna forma, aunque suene horrible, busca reemplazar esa figura perdida adoptando un niรฑo de la misma edad que su pequeรฑo fallecido.
Se ve claramente como Jessie es la que mas sufre en la relaciona mientras que Mark parecรญa listo para seguir adelante y darle a su pequeรฑo Cody (El niรฑo adoptado) el amor que se merecรญa mientras que Jessy parece no poder superarlo (Que es no0rmal mas en una madre que es la que lo llevo en su vientre) y eso queda mas que en evidencia cuando ambos padres descubren el don de Cody de materializar los sueรฑos. Acรก queda en evidencia el daรฑo psicolรณgico de la mujer y me choco bastante ver como utilizaba al pequeรฑo para "Sanar" pero tambien me puse en sus zapatos y se que no debe ser fรกcil vivir la experiencia de perder un hijo pero por el otro lado, Cody no tenia tampoco la culpa de todo lo que el viviรณ desde que era un bebe.
La trama me pareciรณ interesante mas cuando vemos que las pesadillas de Cody se hacen realidad y que el protagonista de ellas, es un ser esquelรฉtico de aspecto tรฉtrico que al parecer quiere asesinar a todos los que se cruza. Hasta ahรญ me encanto y realmente me dio horror pensar en que venga esa cosa a por mi . La actriz es muy bueno, tanto que me hace odiarla por querer usar al niรฑo para superar su trauma pero a la vez, compadecerme de ella y tambiรฉn, amarla por ser tan valiente. Cuando vean la pelรญcula entenderรกn esta montaรฑa rusa de emociones aunque mi favorito es Mark. Un hombre determinado, fuerte que ama a su esposa y a Cody pero no todos son iguales y no todos procesan el dolor de la misma forma por eso termine amando a Jessi.
From the beginning I got caught. It generated an interesting atmosphere reflecting the human emotions of a mother in a pure state after losing her young son in an accident and who, somehow, as horrible as it sounds, seeks to replace that lost figure by adopting a child the same age as her deceased child.
It is clearly seen how Jessie is the one who suffers the most in the relationship while Mark seemed ready to move on and give his little Cody (the adopted child) the love he deserved while Jessy seems unable to get over it (which is no0rmal but in a mother who is the one who carried him in her womb) and that is more than evident when both parents discover Cody's gift of materializing dreams. Here it is evident the psychological damage of the woman and I was quite shocked to see how she used the little boy to "heal" but I also put myself in her shoes and I know it must not be easy to live the experience of losing a child but on the other hand, Cody was not to blame for everything he lived since he was a baby.
I found the plot interesting but more when we see that Cody's nightmares come true and that the protagonist of them, is a skeletal being of gloomy appearance that apparently wants to murder everyone he comes across. So far I loved it and it really gave me horror at the thought of that thing coming after me. The actress is very good, so much so that it makes me hate her for wanting to use the child to overcome her trauma but at the same time, pity her and also, love her for being so brave. When you see the movie you will understand this roller coaster of emotions although my favorite is Mark. A determined, strong man who loves his wife and Cody but not everyone is the same and not everyone processes grief the same way which is why I end up loving Jessi.

Bueno, en lรญneas generales, ame la peli pero, siempre hay un pero ja,ja,ja debo admitir que el final no me gusto mucho. Yo dirรญa 50 y 50 y hora dirรฉ porque.
Pero teniendo en cuenta que es terror psicolรณgico lo manejaron bastante bien y fue algo poรฉtico por asรญ decirlo. No siempre debe haber sangre supongo para que haya horror. Tal vez mi error fue esperar eso, si, que sรกdica estarรกn pensando ja,ja,ja.
Es muy buena , no lo niego, pero siento que falto algo. No se explica de donde viene ese poder de Cody por ejemplo y me quede con esa duda e incluso yo verรญa su secuela si la hacen explicando que pasa.
Lo que si me encantรณ fue como plasmaron los traumas de los niรฑos. Eso fue exquisito, lo tomo como una analogรญa a eso, una metรกfora perfectamente elaborada. En como los traumas de la niรฑez nos afectan en el presente. Los traumas vendrรญan a ser esas pesadillas que se hacen realidad. En ese sentido estuvo espectacular pero bueno, esperaba mas error por allรญ. De igual forma, la recomiendo totalmente ya que es bastante original y un terror diferente al que nos tienen acostumbrados.
Well, overall, I loved the movie but, there's always a but ha,ha,ha,ha I must admit that I didn't like the ending very much. I'd say 50-50 and I'll tell you why.
But considering it's psychological horror they handled it pretty well and it was kind of poetic so to speak. There doesn't always have to be blood I guess for there to be horror. Maybe my mistake was expecting that, yeah, how sadistic they will be thinking ha,ha,ha,ha.

It's very good, I don't deny it, but I feel something was missing. It doesn't explain where Cody's power comes from for example and I was left with that doubt and I would even watch its sequel if they make it explaining what happens.
What I did love was how they captured the children's traumas. That was exquisite, I take it as an analogy to that. How childhood traumas affect us in the present. The traumas would come to be those nightmares that come true. In that sense it was spectacular but well, I expected more mistakes there. Anyway, I totally recommend it as it is quite original and a different horror to what we are used to.
Hasta acรก llego mi reseรฑa de hoy. Espero les haya gustado y que se animen a ver esta peli de terror diferente, un terror poรฉtico por asรญ decirlo que es la muestra clara de que no se necesita gore , ni tripas ni nada de eso para asustar. La recomiendo totalmente aunque sentรญ que le faltaron cosas, no me disgusto para nada.

So much for my review today. I hope you liked it and that you are encouraged to see this different horror movie, a poetic horror so to speak that is a clear demonstration that you don't need gore, guts or anything like that to scare. I totally recommend it although I felt it lacked things, I didn't dislike it at all.
