Una cosa que me llamaba la atención de niño, era el hecho de que en las series infantiles no se tocaran temas tales como la religión. Salvo por algunas caricaturas de algún canal u horario especifico. Ya cuando crecí, comprendí que esto es para respetar las diferentas religiones y las distintas ramas del cristianismo, y también porque no suelen ser temas muy adecuados para la trama. Sin embargo, veía series como los simpsons, padre de familia, malcom el de en medio, entre otras. Las cuales si hablaban de estos temas, sin embargo,lo hacian por encima. Fue por eso, que me pareció muy peculiar, ver una serie religiosa para adultos, la cual era nada más y nada menos que moral orel...

Sinopsis/Synopsis
La serie nos cuenta la vida de Orel Puppington, un niño de 12 años el cual es un cristiano devoto. Viviendo en un pueblo ficticio de "Moraltown" y en el estado ficticio de "Statesota". Un lugar lleno de los tipicos estereotipos de feligreces promedio. Desde el padre Orel (Clay Puppington), quien es un reflejo del padre americano de los años 50´s quien es un alcolico que castiga a su hijo a través de golpizas y desprecia y engaña a su mujer con el profesor de Educ. Física de su hijo. Luego tenemos a la madre (Bloberta Puppington) quien es la típica ama de casa promedio que desprecia mucho a su maridopero no es capaz de abandonarlo, tratando de aliviar su estrés limpiando todolo que hay en la casa (hasta los mismos productos de limpieza. Tenemos a otros como el reverendo Putty, el cual hace algunas cosas cuestionables pero siempre trata de mantener la moral en alto. Otros personajes como la enferemera que se acuesta con todos, el director que trata de ser brujula moral en el colegio a pesar de engañar a su esposa y ser deshonesto, como también la bibliotecaria solterona que siempre está protestando por la canción o pelicula de moda, acusandola de"impúdica". Entre otros más.
Gran parte de los episodios tratan sobre Orel aprendiendo o descubriendo algonuevo, para luego preguntarle a personas algo ineptas como su papá o el reverendo, quienes les explican a medias la idea o cuestionamiento que tiene para que el pobre Orel termine causando un alboroto por su inocencia. Desde consumir crack para "ayudar" a los pobres hasta consumir y vender su propia orina para "no desperdiciarla".

Most of the episodes are about Orel learning or discovering something new, and then asking somewhat inept people like his dad or the reverend, who half-heartedly explain the idea or question he has so that poor Orel ends up causing a fuss about his innocence. Critica/Review
Me gustan mucho las animaciones Stop-Motion, le tengo respeto a todos esos animadores quienes se dedican cientos de horas a animas fotograma a fotograma los movimientos de esos muñecos de arcilla. Cosidero que el movimiento de los personajes y la fluidez son muy buenos en esta serie. A medida que avanzan los episodios y las temporadas, la calidad va mejorandoy se siente todo más fluido y los personajes más pulidos en cuanto a estética. Me sentí muy identificado con Orel, ya que a lo largo de mi vida me ha tocado toparme con personas que en efecto dicen ser muy arraigados a la religión, pero que no son muy simpaticas. aunque sé que no hay que generalizar, hay personas las cuales tanto en creecias como en moral son muy arraigadas y son buenas personas. He conocido a ha varias de hecho y les tengo un gran cariño.
Al principio no se le toma mucha importancia a la serie, simplemente e sun niño quien malintepreta los sermones y consejos que le dicen los cuestionables adultos,pero a medida que avanza la serie, todo se torna más inteso. Capitulos como "Nature part 1 y 2" nos muestran lo más oscuro que puede llegar amostrar una serie de su estetica. Mostrandonos loslimites del padre de orel el cual lo quiere llevar de viaje y enseñarle sobre cazar animales. Esahí en el que orel descubre otra cara de su padre, una que no había visto antes que pero que siempre estuvo allí, su verdadera naturaleza...
I really like Stop-Motion animations, I have respect for all those animators who spend hundreds of hours to animate frame by frame the movements of those clay dolls. I think that the movement of the characters and the fluidity are very good in this series. As the episodes and seasons progress, the quality improves and everything feels more fluid and the characters more polished in terms of aesthetics. I felt very identified with Orel, since throughout my life I have come across people who indeed claim to be very rooted in religion, but are not very sympathetic. although I know not to generalize, there are people who both in beliefs and morals are very rooted and are good people. I have met several of them in fact and I am very fond of them.
At the beginning the series does not take a lot of importance, it is simply a child who misunderstands the sermons and advice given to him by the questionable adults, but as the series progresses, everything becomes more intense. Chapters like "Nature part 1 and 2" show us the darkest that can be shown in a series of its aesthetic. Showing us the limits of orel's father who wants to take him on a trip and teach him about hunting animals. This is the moment when orel discovers another side of his father, one that he had not seen before but that was always there, his true nature...
Es extraño ver temas tan serios en una serie de este estilo. ya que hoy en día las series de adultos solo hablan de sexo de forma chistosa junto con groserías y algunas excentricidades. Y no tratan temas serios como los traumas de la niñez o el abuso,cosa que en esta serie si se puede apreciar. algo que muy seguramente le valió su cancelación. haciendola terminar de manera algo abrupta. los mismos creadores confesaron que la historia está incompleta, y que pudo ser mejor.
It is strange to see such serious topics in a series of this style, since nowadays adult series only talk about sex in a funny way along with rudeness and some eccentricities. And they do not deal with serious issues such as childhood traumas or abuse, something that can be seen in this series. something that most likely earned its cancellation, making it end somewhat abruptly. the creators themselves confessed that the story is incomplete, and that it could have been better.
Yo también vivi situaciones parecidas a las de orel (quizás no tanfuertes como él, pero si momententos en los que me identifiqué). Al igual que orel, tuve a un familiar o figura de admiración (prefiero dejarlo ambiguo) la cual a medida que iba creciendo y conociendola,terminé muy decepcionado, a tal grado de sentir un gran rencor porsu actitud y las cosas que me dijo en algún momento. Pero que en elfondo, agradezco haber conocido ya que así puedo entender comonome gustaría ser cuando sea un adulto. Romper el ciclo de infelicidad al igual que orel y tomar buenas deciciones.
I also lived situations similar to orel's (maybe not as strong as he did, but I did not as strong as him, but at times I identified myself with them). Calificación/Rating
La serie se siente lenta en ciertos momentos, aunque no te aburreporcompleto (salvo por algunos capitulos). Lo interesante viene a finales de la 2 temp y toda la 3era, en dondevemos un desarrollo de personajes y conceptos que no habiamos visto de los personajes secundarios. Sin embargo, como expectador saber que pudo ser mejor, pero por cosas de fuerza mayor no fue así. Por eso yo le doy una calificación de 8.8.
The series feels slow at certain moments, although it doesn't bore you completely (except for some chapters). The interesting part comes at the end of the second and third seasons, where we see a development of characters and concepts that we had not seen from the secondary characters. However, as a viewer I know that it could have been better, but due to force majeure it was not. That's why I give it a rating of 8.8.
