Wes anderson es un muy reconocido director en el mundo del cine,reconocido por peliculas como "Academia Rushmore", "Life Acuatic" o "Los Tenenbaums, Una Familia de Genios" por solo mencionar algunas. Fue entonces que ha mediados de los 2000 obtuvo los derechos de una pequeña novela del famosos escritor estadounidense Roal Dahl, el cual buscaria llevar a la gran pantalla una de sus obras "El fantástico Sr. Zorro". Este autor ya ha recibido adaptaciones de obras como "Matilda", "Charli y la Fabrica de Chocolate", "Jim y el Durazno Gigante" entre otros más.

Esta pelicula tuvo la participación de actores como George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Muray (un actor recurrente de su filmografía), Willie Dafoe, entre otros. Con todo este elenco de actores, muchos comenzaron a seguir de cerca el proyecto, ya que solo podía haber 2 vertientes, osalía una obra maestra, o sólo un rotundo fracaso, sin embargo, ya cuando salió la pelicula, se pudo saber la verdad al respecto.

La trama nos habla de la historia de un pequeño Zorro que en sus días de juventud se dedicaba al robo y hurto de granjas en el valle donde habitaba, peroque por cosas de la vida, se ve en la necesidad de abandonar ese trabajo. Años despues, vuelve a las andadas, provocando la íra de 3 granjeros despiadados que no descasarán hasta capturarlo.

Esta pelicula es fascinante por donde la mires, su estética, los personajes, la historia, entre otras cosas. El director se puso a si mismo el reto de que no hubiese ni un solo tono verde en la pelicula, limitandose sólo a paleta de colores rojo, amarillo, mostaza, marrón, naranja y beige, la cualse puede ver reflejado en la fabrica del granjero Bean y en su trailer donde elabora sus planes. Todo el valle tiene estos colores salvo por Ash y Kristofferson, Ash por no ser como su padre quisiera, sintiendose diferente e inferior a él y a su entorno, mientras que Kristofferson usa un color como el azúl celeste, demostrando ser un visitante, alguien completamente ajeno a dicho entorno, siendo lo opuesto a su primo Ash, el cual si es más atlético y aplicado.

La trama nos habla de la crisis de mediana edad, un tema ya trabajado antes en muchas pelis. Un padre de familia, el cual tiene una vida que muchos envidiarían, sin embargo, se sigue sintiendo vacío y desea revivir sus viejos días de gloria, lo que comienza a traer consecuencias que comienzan a afectarlo a él y su familia por culpa de sus absurdas acciones, dandose cuenta que al final, lo que lo hacía feliz, siempre estuvo ahí. Las escenas drámaticas plasman bien la situación, un gran acierto que tuvo Wes Anderson a la hora de diseñar a los personajes, dandoles caracteristicas antropomorficas en la que pudiesen expresar emociones, como también ir vestidos y caminar erguido como si fuesen gente. Incluso hay un par de escenas donde el Sr. Zorro se comunica de lo más normal con los granjeros, como si no hubiese barrera de lenguaje y cognición.

Aspectos como la comedia, el drama y el suspenso se entrelazan bien, algunos momentos se sienten absurdos pero que funcionan en cierta manera para sentir ligerala pelicula. La escena en que el Sr. Zorro y el tejón se gruñen, la escena donde duermen a los perros con las moras silvestres, la forma en que el Zorro come y demás momentos en la pelicula. El guión está muy bien elaborado, añadiedole escenas y momentos que en la obra original no ocurrieron, como el más notable es que en la obra original finaliza con los animales robando todo lo que había en los graneros, siendo diferen a la pelicula la cual nos muestra que la cosa no terminó aquí, ya que faltaba una ultima cosa que hacía de un Zorro lo que es, su cola. La cual es un simbolo de su astucia, que terminó perdiendo por meterse con los granjeros, pero que por suerte termina recuperando (aunque a duras penas).

Al final de la historia, uno como espectador (o por lo menos en mi caso) no puede evitar sentirse mal por los animales los cuales perdieron su bosque luego de todo el alboroto que se armó, por lo que se ven en la necesidad de vivir en las alcantarillas y desarrollar sus vidas cotidianas allí. Sin embargo, se nos muestra que viven bajo un supermercado que cierra temprano, nuestros personajes estarán bien. Con un final bailarín, visto desde el exito taquillero de Shrek a inicios de los 2000's.

La pelicula acierta en muchas cosas como lo son la estética y el soundtrack, el cual puede sentirse mucho el aire sureño estadounidense, siendo una fabula en todo su esplendor. Lospersonajes son bastante entrañables, la historia toma un giro sorprendente, no sorpresivo, pero si entretenido y que te mantiene atento a la situación. La animación es muy pulcra, se puede notar todo el esfuerzo que realizaron los animadores, dandonos paisajes bastante tranquilos e interesantes. La escena del lobo a lo lejos se siente muy extraña, pero a la vez es magnifica,simbolizando quizás la estabilidad del protagonista y la superación de su fobia el cual eran los lobos, como se nos llevaba diciendo desde comienzos de esta. También se nota el apego que tuvieron todos los involucrados con la pelicula, ya que los dialogos de los personajes fueron grabados en el exterior, como en campos abiertos y graneros, los cuales daban ese ambiente más realista. Por esoque yo le doy un 9, creo que es la calificación más alta que le h dado a una pelicula hasta ahora, pero debo decir que en efecto se la ha ganado. Espero con ansias las proximas peliculas de Wes Anderson, porque al parecer se estrenará proximamente una de animación Stop-Motion también.

Wes Anderson is a very well known director in the world of cinema, recognized for films such as "Rushmore Academy", "Life Aquatic" or "The Tenenbaums, A Family of Geniuses" just to mention a few. It was then that in the mid 2000's he obtained the rights to a short novel by the famous American writer Roal Dahl, who wanted to bring to the big screen one of his works "The Fantastic Mr. Zorro". This author has already received adaptations of works such as "Matilda", "Charli and the Chocolate Factory", "Jim and the Giant Peach" among others.

This film had the participation of actors such as George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Muray (a recurring actor in his filmography), Willie Dafoe, among others. With all this cast of actors, many began to follow the project closely, as there could only be 2 sides, either a masterpiece, or just a resounding failure, however, when the film came out, we could know the truth about it.

The plot tells the story of a little Zorro who in his youth was dedicated to the robbery and theft of farms in the valley where he lived, but for life's sake, he is forced to abandon that work. Years later, he returns to his old ways, provoking the wrath of three ruthless farmers who will not rest until they capture him.

This movie is fascinating everywhere you look, its aesthetics, the characters, the story, among other things. The director set himself the challenge of not having a single shade of green in the film, limiting himself to a palette of red, yellow, mustard, brown, orange and beige, which can be seen reflected in Farmer Bean's factory and in his trailer where he elaborates his plans. The whole valley has these colors except for Ash and Kristofferson, Ash for not being as his father would like, feeling different and inferior to him and his environment, while Kristofferson uses a color like light blue, showing to be a visitor, someone completely alien to that environment, being the opposite of his cousin Ash, which if it is more athletic and applied.

The plot tells us about the midlife crisis, a theme already worked before in many movies. A family man, who has a life that many would envy, however, still feels empty and wants to relive his old glory days, which begins to bring consequences that begin to affect him and his family because of his absurd actions, realizing that in the end, what made him happy, was always there. The dramatic scenes capture the situation well, a great success that Wes Anderson had when designing the characters, giving them anthropomorphic characteristics in which they could express emotions, as well as being dressed and walking upright as if they were people. There are even a couple of scenes where Mr. Zorro communicates in the most normal way with the farmers, as if there were no language and cognition barrier.

Aspects of comedy, drama and suspense intertwine well, some moments feel absurd but work in a way to make the film feel light. The scene where Mr. Zorro and the badger growl at each other, the scene where they put the dogs to sleep with the wild berries, the way Zorro eats and other moments in the movie. The script is very well elaborated, adding scenes and moments that did not occur in the original work, as the most notable is that in the original work ends with the animals stealing everything that was in the barns, being different from the movie which shows us that the thing did not end here, as it was missing one last thing that made a Fox what it is, its tail. Which is a symbol of his cunning, which he ended up losing by messing with the farmers, but which luckily he ends up recovering (albeit barely).

At the end of the story, one as a viewer (or at least in my case) can't help but feel bad for the animals who lost their forest after all the commotion, so they are forced to live in the sewers and go about their daily lives there. However, we are shown that living under a supermarket that closes early, our characters will be fine. With a dancing ending, seen since the box-office success of Shrek in the early 2000's.

The film succeeds in many things such as aesthetics and soundtrack, which can feel a lot of American southern air, being a fabulous in all its splendor. The characters are quite endearing, the story takes a surprising turn, not surprising, but entertaining and keeps you attentive to the situation. The animation is very neat, you can notice all the effort made by the animators, giving us quite calm and interesting landscapes. The wolf scene in the distance feels very strange, but at the same time it is magnificent, symbolizing perhaps the stability of the protagonist and the overcoming of his phobia which was the wolves, as we were told since the beginning of this one. It also shows the attachment that everyone involved had with the film, since the dialogues of the characters were filmed outdoors, as in open fields and barns, which gave that more realistic atmosphere. That's why I give it a 9, I think it's the highest rating I've given to a movie so far, but I must say that it has indeed earned it. I'm looking forward to Wes Anderson's next movies, because it seems that a Stop-Motion animation movie will be released soon as well.
