This dark fantasy film, animated in an exquisite stop motion. It was released in 1993, directed by Henry Selick (not by Tim Burton), but produced and conceived by Tim Burton. The Nightmare Before Christmas originated from a poem written by Burton in 1982 while working as an animator at Walt Disney. Personally it is a truly unique movie. The story tells of Jack Skellington, the King of "Halloween Town", who stumbles through a portal to "Christmas Town" and decides to celebrate the holiday. It is simply joining two incredible celebrations around the world, a feeling of dark happiness.

The stop-motion animation style (frame by frame) is one of the most detailed, slow and complex to film. When I look at it I feel like I'm looking at something handcrafted frame by frame, and it feels great. An artisan film, you could say.
