Diamante en Bruto es una película independiente del 2019, dirigida por Benny Safdie, pienso que dibujó de manera profesional la realidad de escenarios viciosos que forman conductas negativas. El film de género drama, crimen y suspenso, cuenta la historia de un joyero que realiza una apuesta desorbitada, mientras logra poner en orden el negocio, la familia, la vida personal y las deudas.
Days ago I wrote about the series the Last Kingdom and I made it clear how good I felt watching it, because really the audiovisual production, made a stir of sensations that left me wanting more, but fearful that new seasons do not measure up. So, I decided to watch the series Vikingos, believing that it had correlation and it was not, luckily, Netflix notifies the movie starring Adam Sandler, which has received good comments; then, I interrupted Vikingos. Uncut Gems, is a film from the beginning made attraction effect, I never let my guard down to live the story.
Uncut Gems is a 2019 independent film directed by Benny Safdie, I think he professionally drew the reality of vicious scenarios that form negative behaviors. The drama, crime and suspense genre film tells the story of a jeweler who makes an exorbitant bet, while managing to put business, family, personal life and debts in order.
La película desde que inicia hasta el final me mantuvo ávida de la trama que desarrollaba tensión y desesperación; la cinematografía me subió a la cresta de la ola en espera del mayor drama; sin embargo, la película tuvo siempre el propósito de dejar al espectador de creer que pronto habrá un giro drástico o lo mejor está por llegar. Es como ver la Teoría del Caos que cada acción genera otra reacción con repercusiones peligrosas; a veces evoqué películas como Casino, Pacto Criminal, El Irlandés, entre otras, que me hicieron vivir angustia. El argumento está bien tejido, lineal y definido en la trama que prolonga la concentración de manera acelerada. Llegué a preguntarme cuándo bajaría el ritmo, hasta que finalmente, un poco de calma en el ambiente y actuaciones, así que tomé descanso para prepararme y tener las energías de vivir el cierre.
Uno de los elementos que me llevó a establecer una unión con la película, fue la música, hubo melodías y sonidos intensos y continuos que iban al unísono de la trama. La banda sonora desfiló por diferentes escenas para reforzar la reacción en el cinéfilo sobre el contexto, ya sea angustia o ansiedad; los primeros minutos te impulsan a hacer el recorrido íntimo de un mineral constituido de colores hasta tocar las puertas interna del personaje, ese efecto me gustó. Otro asunto que llamó mi atención es que las cámaras tomaban la esencia del personaje que es la médula de la película. Por otra parte, las imágenes y escenografías le dan vida a un mundo de luces, ruidos, enérgico, tramposo y brillante que conjuga movimiento de poder, de ambición y de violencia.
The film from the beginning to the end kept me eager for the plot that develops tension and desperation; the cinematography had me riding the crest of the wave waiting for the greatest drama; however, the film always had the purpose of leaving the viewer to believe that soon there will be a drastic turn or the best is yet to come. It's like watching Chaos Theory, every action generates another reaction with dangerous repercussions; at times I evoked movies like Casino, Criminal Pact, The Irishman, among others, that made me live in anguish. One of the elements that led me to establish a bond with the film was the music, there were intense and continuous melodies and sounds that went in unison with the plot. The soundtrack paraded through different scenes to reinforce the moviegoer's reaction to the context, be it anguish or anxiety; the first minutes push you to make the intimate journey of a mineral made up of colors until touching the character's inner doors, I liked that effect. Another issue that caught my attention is that the cameras took the essence of the character, which is the core of the film. On the other hand, the images and scenery give life to a world of lights, noises, energetic, deceitful and brilliant that combines the movement of power, ambition and violence.
¿Por qué deben ver Diamante en Bruto? La cinematografía trae un tema visualizado, pero con pisadas gigantes de ritmo sobre el comportamiento de un joyero que juega con la suerte y se respalda del recurso convincente de las palabras sin pausa. Además es una oportunidad de ver a un actor, rompiendo esquemas y al mismo tiempo tienen que estar preparados para vivir minutos de adrenalina basadas en las decisiones tomada por el joyero. No sé, porque este film no consiguió el reconocimiento de ser visualizada en otros espacios, es como ser valorada y ser menospreciada. La película un Diamante en Bruto es la cruda vida del sujeto que juega con candela y se quema en un hogar peligroso que no ve las advertencias porque son reconocidas como "normas sociables" de un sector oscuro pero bien iluminado.
Sandler, I like most of the comedies he stars in; however, here the character he plays, jeweler Howard Ranther has endless verbiage that becomes a nuisance for those involved in the plot and for the viewer who establishes an exasperating yet tolerable relationship with the jeweler; an integral performance that represents a gambler and mythomaniac in a system that is forged by traps and alliances. The other character performances are good and give the main character a boost.
Why should you see Uncut Gems? The cinematography brings a seen theme, but with giant steps of rhythm on the behavior of a jeweler who plays with luck and relies on the convincing resource of words without pause. Besides, it is an opportunity to see an actor, breaking schemes and at the same time you have to be prepared to live minutes of adrenaline, based on the decisions taken by the jeweler. I do not know why this film did not get the recognition of being visualized in other spaces, it is like being valued and undervalued. The film, a Diamond in the Rough, is the raw life of the subject who plays with candle and burns in a dangerous home that does not see the warnings because they are recognized as "sociable norms" of a dark but well-lit sector.
