La Nube | Review y Opinión [ESP-ENG]

Interesante es romper con esquemas acerca del género que se acostumbra, esta vez una película francesa de terror fue la elegida. La razón, el gusto que me quedó al ver El legado del diablo, un género de terror psicológico, esto me motivó a investigar nuevamente un tema que te ponga en alerta, ya sea ficticio o basada en hechos reales que promueva el pensar sobre los diferentes puntos de la trama; por suerte, La Nube fue una elección entretenida. Cabe mencionar que la disfrute en el micro rumbo a mi viaje de vacaciones y la experiencia de padecer tensión en la noche en una escena perturbadora mientras el micro tropieza con ramas, ayudó a la intención de la película.

It is interesting to break with schemes about the genre that we are used to, this time a French horror film was the chosen one. The reason, the taste I had when I saw The Devil's Legacy, a psychological horror genre, this motivated me to investigate again a theme that puts you on alert, either fictional or based on real events, which promotes thinking about the different points of the plot; luckily, The Cloud was an entertaining choice. It is worth mentioning that I enjoyed it on the bus on my way to my vacation trip and the experience of suffering tension at night in a disturbing scene as the bus stumbles over branches, helped the film's inventions.

Las películas de cine francés que he visto todas han sido muy buenas, mi primera fue Amelie, tiene que ver este ingenio reflexivo en hacer cumplir sueños desde una posibilidad romántica que deja desatendido el amor propio. Luego vi La familia Belier, drama donde una hija hace la diferencia para la integración de la familia en la sociedad gracias a un talento que rompe estigma. También el drama fuerte en argumento, titulada La vida de Adéle, una chica que tiene "claro" el concepto de relación de género, la experiencia la lleva a un romance apasionado y conflictivo. Ahora recién, La Nube, una proyección de 2020, que dura una hora, dirigida por Just Philippot, me hizo navegar por una metáfora terrorífica de ficción; la historia habla de una madre con dificultades para sostener a sus 2 hijos. El medio de sobrevivencia se convierte en obsesión al entablar una extraña relación con la cría de saltamontes.

The French films I have seen have all been very good, my first one was Amelie, it has to do with this reflexive ingenuity in making dreams come true from a romantic possibility that leaves self-love unattended. Then I saw The Belier Family, a drama where a daughter makes the difference for the integration of the family in society thanks to a talent that breaks stigma. Also, the drama strong in plot, entitled The Life of Adéle, a girl who is "clear" about the concept of gender relationship, the experience leads her to a passionate and conflicting romance. Now just now, The Cloud, a 2020 screening, lasting an hour, directed by Just Philippot, had me navigating a terrifying metaphor of fiction; the story tells of a mother struggling to support her 2 children. The means of survival becomes an obsession as she enters into a strange relationship with the grasshopper brood.

El título de la cinta es connotativo debido al contexto, te sitúa, aunque se desconozca las circunstancias del evento, de igual forma suministra información; otro aspecto del afiche es la luz en el fondo, significa esperanza después de la tragedia pintada en la imagen; y por último, la tipografía gigante que resalta el terror. La trama empieza por representar la realidad de la granja, permite discernir sobre la situación económica que atraviesa la familia y la preocupación de la madre en salvar la granja. A su vez, el largometraje dibuja la débil relación entre madre e hijos y la grotesca manera de recuperar el vínculo con una decisión sádica para subsanar tiempo de calidad sin tener que renunciar a la granja. Me gusta porque el poco diálogo argumentativo revela la verdad al espectador, te dejas llevar por los movimientos de las imágenes sencillas hasta que en pocos minutos las imágenes elevan el tono de terror inquietante para que surjan sensaciones de asombro y repudio. Un accidente transforma el comportamiento de la madre en un acto repulsivo y obsesivo.

The title of the film is connotative due to the context, it situates you, although the circumstances of the event are unknown, it still provides information; another aspect of the poster is the light in the background, it signifies hope after the tragedy painted in the image; and finally, the giant typography that highlights the terror. The plot begins by depicting the reality of the farm, allowing us to discern the economic situation the family is going through and the mother's concern in saving the farm. At the same time, the film depicts the weak relationship between mother and children and the grotesque way to recover the bond with a sadistic decision to make up for quality time without having to give up the farm. I like it because the little argumentative dialogue reveals the truth to the viewer, you get carried away by the movements of the simple images until in a few minutes the images raise the tone of disturbing terror to bring up feelings of awe and repudiation. An accident transforms the mother's behavior into a repulsive and obsessive act.

Descomponer las ideas narrativas de La Nube es sencillo, porque el drama es producto del problema económico, del distanciamiento social, del quiebre familiar y de un negocio en ruina. Entonces, surge una idea descabellada para hacer dinero sin importar las consecuencias generales, que seguramente no tiene sentido, pero el género terror ficticio lo permite. Es una idea diferente para explicar el drama, habrá consecuencias, ya que, la unión familiar será breve por la ambición. La invención de la historia te lleva a reflexionar que existe la posibilidad en los seres humanos de perder el norte para recurrir a un camino terrible, aunque este se perciba fácil. Otro aspecto del film, es inducir a hechos tácitos, producto de escenas que te hacen caer en la trampa, por ejemplo, predije sobre el hijo y el perro, donde solo uno se materializa. Considero impactantes 2 imágenes, entre ellas la última que me hizo dar entender que una madre puede ser "desalmada" y reaccionar a tiempo por los hijos. 

Breaking down the narrative ideas of The Cloud is simple, because the drama is the product of economic problems, social estrangement, family breakdown and a business in ruins. Then, a crazy idea arises to make money regardless of the general consequences, which surely does not make sense, but the fictional horror genre allows it. It is a different idea to explain the drama, there will be consequences, as, the family union will be short-lived by ambition. The invention of the story leads you to reflect that there is the possibility in human beings to lose the north to resort to a terrible path, even if it is perceived as easy. Another aspect of the film is to induce unspoken facts, product of scenes that make you fall into the trap, for example, I predicted about the son and the dog, where only one materializes. I consider 2 images shocking, including the last one that made me understand that a mother can be "heartless" and react in time for her children.

La música tiene sonidos que indican frialdad, inquietud, repugnancia y asombro. El sonido de los saltamontes se discrimina, pero magnificado, genera alarma que condiciona. El ambiente rural donde se desarrolla la trama corresponde, por tanto, otorga significado; las tomas desagradables son necesarias. La cinta tiene más carácter por las actuaciones de los protagonistas, en especial la madre y la hija. Suliane Brahim, quien asume el rol de madre, Virginia, dedica la madera de levantar la granja, desesperada, busca apoyo y a la vez independencia, la frustración la conduce a solucionar el problema creando una relación con un animal que mutila, el apego nada sano y menos dulce porque hiere; realmente sentí la preocupación, el dolor y la obsesión psicópata que transmite la madre, pero sobre todo cuando salva a su hija del ataque. Marie Narbonne, una joven preocupada por su vida en la escuela, es señalada por el trabajo de la madre. Es una chica que adora su madre y le ayuda con la granja; cansada del comportamiento de la madre, empiezan las diferencias y con el tiempo intuye que pasa algo raro, descubre a la madre y la enfrenta hasta que todo se sale de control, poniendo en riego la vida de ella y de su hermano.

Music has sounds that indicate coldness, uneasiness, disgust and amazement. The sound of grasshoppers is discriminated, but magnified, it generates alarm that conditions. The rural setting where the plot unfolds corresponds, therefore, gives meaning; the unpleasant shots are necessary. The film has more character because of the performances of the protagonists, especially the mother and daughter. Suliane Brahim, who assumes the role of mother, Virginia, dedicates the wood to raise the farm, desperate, seeks support and at the same time independence, frustration leads her to solve the problem by creating a relationship with an animal that mutilates, attachment nothing healthy and less sweet because it hurts; I really felt the concern, pain and psychopathic obsession conveyed by the mother, but especially when she saves her daughter from the attack. Marie Narbonne, a young girl worried about her life at school, is singled out for the mother's work. She is a girl who adores her mother and helps her with the farm; tired of the mother's behavior, differences begin and with time she senses that something strange is going on, she discovers the mother and confronts her until everything gets out of control, putting her and her brother's life at risk.

¿Por qué debo ver La Nube? Es un film con una trama ficticia de horror que te hace pensar ¿puede ocurrir tal reacción? Otra idea genial es la posición de un ser intranquilo que pierde el contacto con la realidad y desatiende a la familia al crear un vínculo nada convencional con langostas, relación obvia que termina en desastre. Me gusta que la película te hace repensar en situaciones económicas que atraviesan madres angustiadas que les llevan a tomar decisiones en ocasiones incorrectas. Se percibe que es de bajo presupuesto, tiene fallas en el guion que en verdad no me preocupan porque dirigí mi atención en el argumento de la madre. De igual manera, el mensaje claro acerca que lo inofensivo puede transformarse en algo grande y peligroso. El ruido o el zumbido genera tensión entre el lazo creado y el desenlace, los efectos visuales ajustado al presupuesto y la sangre no siempre será repugnante. El final es reflexivo y muchos esperan algo más, así que, el espectador tendrá que cerrar la idea del significado del título, La Nube.

Why should I watch The Cloud? It is a film with a fictional horror plot that makes you think: can such a reaction happen? Another great idea is the position of a restless being who loses touch with reality and neglects the family by creating an unconventional bond with lobsters, an obvious relationship that ends in disaster. I like that the film makes you rethink the economic situations that anxious mothers go through that lead them to make sometimes wrong decisions. It is perceived to be low-budget, it has flaws in the script that don't really bother me because I focused my attention on the mother's storyline. Likewise, the clear message about how the harmless can turn into something big and dangerous. The noise or buzz builds tension between the bond created and the dénouement, the visual effects fit the budget and the blood won't always be disgusting. The ending is thoughtful and many expect something more, so, the viewer will have to close the idea of the meaning of the title, The Cloud.
