Shouldn't The Marvel Universe Be Broke By Now?

As we're approaching the 478th billion Marvel movie "Avengers: The Actual Endgame But Not Really" I keep having this question in the back of my mind: Shouldn't the Marvel universe be broken by now? I mean, I live in Baghdad, and it wasn't destroyed half as bad as New York in the first Avengers movie and we're still trying to rebuild almost 20 years later.

I mean, okay, forget about all the destroyed buildings that I assume no people were inside since this is the MCU and people don't die during all destruction. But, who's still starting businesses?

Especially in New York. How do you go about convincing people to invest in the state?

You should start your business in New York

Isn't it constantly getting attacked by villains?

Yes, but that happens only every six months. The portal bringing those villains from other universes has been closed, so we're safe from that.

Great! Where do I sign up to start a business in a state with high taxes rate AND prone to aliens attacks?

Also, Insurance

I mean isn't that why neighborhoods with high criminal activities don't have a lot of business since no insurance company would insure businesses there? And we're talking robberies mostly. How much would the insurance companies charge when there's a 50-50 chance they'd have to rebuild the business every 6 months?

I mean look at this post-credit Shawarma scene from the first Avengers movie

The owner is probably suffering from trauma but still can't get the day off because he knows that he will have his insurance rate increase 10 times the current one.

Asgardians had to leave Asgard because Loki released the Fire Demon Surtur. Never mind the fact that the asshole Avengers didn't show up to help as Thor did for them, ungrateful runts. But, that's one supervillain and Asgardians had to leave, how is earth so immune?

Destruction-prone areas with high taxes, which by the way probably went up to pay for the fancy equipment at S.H.I.E.L.D alone. Do you think all those spaceships that go across the galaxy and dimensions are cheap?

So, you have sky-high taxes rate, sky-high insurance rates, and all destruction. No one in their sane mind would put a dime to start a business in the MCU.

In Conclusion

We're not going to get into how the MCU should already be dead due to overcrowded hospitals and the effects of all these weapons and explosions on the climate.

The MCU should be broke. I mean why is Stark even a billionaire still? What is he even selling? Technology? Who do you think is running to buy the new iPhone let alone whatever the hell he's selling since he stopped selling war weapons. And with the factors I mentioned above, who's still creating products anyway?

Tony Stark is still a billionaire because of the military, why do you think his best friend is army🤣 Even though he stopped makin weapons, who said his technology isn't used in weapons🙂

New York? In my mind it's still New Amsterdam, and Suriname should be called New York. Now imagine that! All the NY buildings in the jungle! Bit of a different scene maybe? But Endgame was really Endgame no? I mean, no Stark. Boohoo. Nah, kidding, I'd still watch it without him...

Look at all the jobs the destruction creates. It is amazing how the skyline doesn't change after the reconstruction

Hollywood as a whole lost touch with reality. How are they gonna make a movie about heroes where things make sense?

What an insight that I wasn't even thinking of, but then again when I watch the (animated) movies or read the comics, I'm not thinking about the plausibility 😂.

Great points regarding taxes and asking why people would stay in attack prone cities. As I haven't known war or natural disasters to such a degree, I wouldn't be able to say 100% if I would leave or not, but in a hypothetical situation I think I would leave.

Then again - and you don't have to agree - why do people stay in volcanic or earthquake prone areas and not move to other "safer" regions? Why do they keep re-building? Just food for thought.

This is so true. I love most of the films and shows that Marvel create but it does get repetitive sometimes and your right, they should be broke. the funny thing about it is that they can keep going because of the growing technology. a lot of what they do are computerized now and years ago they had a system that allowed the to shoot all the non-destructive scenes first and they try to get the destructive scenes right the first time. They also had models made so they could just rebuild when taping a scene didn't work out. I'm not in the movie making business but read on this many years ago. Technology has grown so much that they can make the scenes look so real even when they aren't actual filmings like it use to be.

I understand your rant. It reminds me of Dennis Leary screaming about coffee-flavored coffee lol. We all have to keep in mind these are just comic book stories to help us escape the horrors of our own reality if only for a small moment. You are still one of the funniest people on Hive.

As long as there is money to be made, they will continue doing so. They know that there is a market for people who watch this stuff but I stopped a long while ago when they stopped offering new creative stuff.

Easy there big fella, let's not be talking smack on my Avengers. And who cares if New York gets destroyed every few years(sorry @jimmy.adames), they will find a way to fix it. That's what green screens are for.
