Supernatural/Adaptation
Synopsis:
Kate a nanny housekeeper is hired to work taking care of 2 children and ends up discovering dark secrets while taking care of the orphans who seem to be disturbed or the mansion is haunted, as the place seems to live with other residents, not necessarily alive.
Review:
Kate a young teacher is hired to be a governess and take care of 2 children in an old mansion, but while she works she realizes that strange things happen in the house, and after Miles returns, Flora's older brother, the situation in that mansion is worse .
In the film's plot besides the mansion itself being old and old, besides strange children, everything seems to be so old, everything to create a hostile and scary environment. Although the scares in some scenes are guaranteed, but nothing much because it's not as terror as the scenes show, it suggests a psychological terror.
In orphans, spirits live in the mansion, but what leaves us in doubt is whether people are actually seeing ghosts or whether it's a person behind them. What makes the film more intriguing is whether the tutor suffers a psychological disorder or not, because Kate's mother lives locked up in an asylum and lives in her own world.
We can see that in one of the scenes Kate is fighting with someone and the other part is clearly trying to offend her. Another question about the 2 children the fact that they are strange is maybe because they are traumatized by the death of their parents, and living alone in an old mansion far from everyone, the children can maybe only interact with real or self-created ghosts.
I particularly like horror movies, but you can't consider this movie to be horror.
