The role played by Catherine Keener, who had previously been nominated for 2 Oscars as best supporting actress for her work in Being John Malkovich in 1999 and Capote in 2005, as Missy is undoubtedly very good and is the one who carries the weight of the suspenseful actions.

It was a low budget film, barely 4 and a half million dollars, which since its premiere got excellent reviews from connoisseurs, reason why it was nominated for an Oscar in 4 categories, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay, obtaining the award in the latter, however its protagonist Daniel Kaluuya would win the BAFTA award for Best Rising Star, the total collection of the film exceeded 255 million dollars.
