This film is a German production and is directed by Boris Kunz with Tomas Jonsgården, and Indre Juskute, Boris is also part of the group of screenwriters completed by Simon Amberger, and Peter Kocyla.
It takes place in the near future between Germany and Lithuania and it mixes several genres such as science fiction, fantasy, adventure, action and suspense that move the viewer to unexpected twists that sometimes are positive but in other cases the opposite.
The plot revolves around Max and Elena who lead a successful life, she as a doctor and he as a donation manager in the AEON Corporation, a biotechnology company that buys years to the needy and sells them to those who can afford it, being the most effective and awarded that year.
But an unexpected event changes everything and his wife is robbed of 40 years of her life, which leads Max to do everything he can to get them back, including fighting the very company he works for.
Kostja Ullmann of a long career in German cinema plays Max, while Marlene Tanczik, known for Never Look Away (2018) and Schneller als die Angst (2022) plays Elena when she is young, and Corinna Kirchhoff, also a veteran actress from Germany, plays Elena when she is in her 40s, accompanied by a group of actors from Europe, including Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Iris Iris Tønnesen and Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, also a veteran actress from that country, plays Elena when she is 40 years old, accompanied by a group of actors from the European milieu, including Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Iris Berben, Kostja Ullmann, Diana Krueger, Lukas von Horbatschewsky, Donata Simukauskas and Matthias Ziesing.
The scenery is very well staged and the scenes are good, the plot at times seems to get lost but takes the initial thread, however the viewer must be attentive not to miss any detail.
It was released on June 24, 2023 at the Munich Film Festival and on the Netflix platform on July 27 of the same year.
It has had very good reviews from critics and viewers and has positioned itself on the streaming platform as one of the most watched this month.
Personally I liked it and I recommend it.
