This is a drama film written and directed by Don Handfield, for whom this represented his debut in this film role, having previously been in the television series Seven Days and as an actor in the feature films Forsaken and Defying Gravity.
It revolves around Scott Murphy, a student from a small farming town who is the promise of college soccer in the area and after being the architect of the first victory in a playoff game, he gets injured and loses his career.
Over the years he marries, inherits his mother's property, has two daughters and works as a volunteer firefighter, often wondering what would have happened to his future if he had not had that fateful injury that changed his life forever and which was the result of disobeying his coach's orders.
Circumstances of life put him on the edge and one day he decides to commit suicide by inhaling carbon monoxide but instead of death he is transferred to his hometown when he was a student and is able to perform actions different from what caused his current life.
Brian Presley plays Murphy, known for his roles in the films Home of the Brave, Borderland, Streets of Blood and Once Fallen, the latter of which he first played the title role, Melanie Lynskey as his wife Macy, elal is known for her role as Rose in the hit TV series Two and a Half Men, and Kurt Russell, who has a long career in film, as Coach Hand.
Also starring are Marc Blucas as Hall, Christine Lahti as Thelma, Sarah Wright as Jenny, 'Drew Powell as Dwight Pearson.and a host of other actors.
It was released in April 2012 and reviews from audiences and the academy have been mixed.
Personally I enjoyed it and it does the job and entertains as well as teaches a clear lesson about the choices we make in our lives.
