Every so often I discuss how important screenwriters are and how dumb directors are.
Case in point. Gremlins was written by Chris Columbus and directed by joe Dante. Gremlins 2 was done by joe Dante without Chris Columbus.
Gremlins was a huge hit and good.
Gremlins 2 sucked and died at the box office.
Ergo. The writer made the movie.
The gremlins in this one weren't scary and they actually took the time to make fun of the first movie, which only reminded me how much better the first movie was.
They talked and even sang show tunes in the lobby.
