I'm not a Mel Brooks fan.
I'm more of a "that's kinda funny so I'll keep watching Mel Brooks movie" type person.
Blazing Saddles was great but there's been a noticeable decline through the years with his work sometime in the eighties. It's as if he went 'screw originality, I'm just going to spoof everything'
So he spoofed Robin Hood.
I watched it when it first came out and was bored then with it. Kind of bored now with it too.
Too many sight gags and puns based on you having already seen the other movies it's spoofing.
Sometimes that doesn't hold up because sometimes you don't remember if you've ever seen that movie.
It's worth watching. But not more than once or twice a decade.
A good Mel Brooks movie is the history of the world part one. I'm going to have to go check that one out tomorrow if I have time.
