Full discloser before I start telling people to go work on this movie, I have friends that worked on it in both acting and behind the camera.
I'm actually watching it for the CGI work but have to say something about the plot.
Take out the apes and put in natives, it's basically another story about Indians getting killed.
That said.
Holy shit did they do a good job on the animation of the apes.
There's whole sections in here where you forget their animation and not in this reality... although sometimes their too clean for the background and stand out as not real.
Low light and bright light looks better than the backlight, Where the CGI becomes greyish as if artificially lit in the program.
Sequences in the snow were fantastic and close ups of the hair really worked.
I couldn't get a picture that showed that because you have to see how the hair moves in the air or on horseback.
Worth watching.
Not sure about the plot though. It's ok
