Hola a todos, desde que comenzó Disney +, marvel ha buscado expandir mas su universo con series que si bien no son películas pero están ubicadas en el mismo universo cinematográfico que nos ha cautivado por tantos años pero nunca te has preguntado si existen otros universos ademas de este, What if nos revela la verdad detrás de esta pregunta guiados por el vigilante, nos mostrara un lado nunca visto del universo marvel, así que háganse esta pregunta ¿Que pasaría si?
What is the Marvel Multiverse?
If you are not a fan of Marvel comics and animated series you may be unfamiliar with this concept, in short it is the totality of alternative realities where our favorite superheroes live, in DC comics it is known as parallel earths but in Marvel they are parallel universes, what does it all mean you ask?
Imagine that you flip a coin and it lands heads but in another universe it lands tails, basically that's what the multiverse is all about, small decisions that generate a completely different reality to the one we remember, you may think you know your superheroes in depth but what if I told you that there are thousands of different versions of the same character.
Si no eres fanático de los cómics y de las series animadas de marvel puede que este concepto te sea desconocido, en resumen son la totalidad de realidades alternativas donde nuestros superheroes favoritos viven, en DC cómics se conoce como tierras paralelas pero en marvel son universos paralelos, ¿Que significa todo esto te preguntaras? Imagina que tiras una moneda al aire y cae cara pero en otro universo cayo cruz, básicamente de eso se trata el multiverso pequeñas decisiones que generan una realidad completamente diferente a la que recordamos puede que crees que conoces a fondo a tus superheroes pero que pasaría si te dijera que existen miles de versiones diferentes del mismo personaje.
Who is the watchman?
He is our guide through these vast alternate realities, this is how Uatu describes himself, the vigilante in charge of narrating everything that happens in these realities, although many remember him for his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy, the truth is that this ancient being's mission is to observe all the events that occur in the multiverse with the only rule of not interfering.
Es nuestro guía a través de estas bastas realidades alternativas así se describe Uatu el vigilante encargado de narrar todo los que pasa en estas realidades, si bien muchos lo recuerdan por su aparición en los Guardianes de la galaxia lo cierto es que este ser antiguo tiene como misión observar todos los eventos que ocurren en el multiverso con la única regla de no interferir.
General analysis:
In each chapter we are shown a different reality, although they are the same characters we know in these realities they made different decisions that took them on paths never seen before, take for example Peggy Carter in the universe we know she left the room when Steve Rogers entered the machine that would turn him into Captain America but in another reality she stayed in the room causing him to be injured and she had to replace him thus becoming Captain Carter.
You may think that the characters are different but the truth is that although they made other decisions different from their other incarnations their core that makes them unique and icons of Marvel is still intact, look at T'Challa/Chadwick Boseman even in the shoes of the irreverent Starlord manages to demonstrate his nobility and dignity as any good ruler turning the Devastators a band of space pirates in a Robin Hood admired by the entire galaxy.
En cada capitulo se nos muestra una diferente realidad, si bien son los mismos personajes que conocemos en estas realidades tomaron diferentes decisiones que los llevaron por caminos nunca vistos, tomemos por ejemplo a Peggy Carter en el universo que conocemos ella salio de la habitación cuando Steve Rogers entro en la maquina que lo volvería Capitán América pero en otra realidad ella se quedo en la habitación causando que este fuera herido y ella tuviera que reemplazarlo convirtiéndose así en la Capitana Carter. Puede que pienses que los personajes son diferentes pero la verdad es que aunque estos tomaron otras decisiones distintas a sus otras encarnaciones su centro aquello que los hace únicos e iconos de Marvel sigue intacto, miren a T'Challa/Chadwick Boseman aun en los zapatos del irreverente Starlord logra demostrar su nobleza y dignidad como todo buen gobernante convirtiendo a los Devastadores una banda de piratas espaciales en unos Robin Hood admirados por toda la galaxia.
Character analysis:
- Captain Carter/ Peggy Carter: We all know secret agent Peggy Carter the eternal love of Steve Rogers/Captain America but in this reality after Steve is wounded she is the one who receives the super soldier serum while this was a big surprise for everyone to see how at that time women were not considered soldiers and to see how she managed to be recognized as such despite all the discrimination was something really inspiring, She helps defeat Hydra and with the help of Steve/Hydra Stomper they turn the war around and although she had to make the ultimate sacrifice to save Steve and the world she was devastated to know that she couldn't make it to her prom date.
Capitana Cárter/ Peggy Carter: Todos conocemos a la agente secreta Peggy Carter el eterno amor de Steve Rogers/Capitan America pero en esta realidad después de que Steve es herido ella es quien recibe el suero del super soldado si bien esto fue una gran sorpresa para todos ver como en ese tiempo las mujeres no eran consideradas soldados y ver como ella logro ser reconocida como tal pese a toda la discriminación fue algo realmente inspirador, ella ayuda a derrotar a Hydra y con la ayuda de Steve/ Hydra Stomper le dan la vuelta a la guerra y aunque ella tuvo que hacer el máximo sacrificio para salvar a Steve y el mundo al final quedo destrozada al saber que no pudo llegar a su cita de baile.
- Star-Lord/ T'Challa: Our favorite King but become a real space adventurer, in this reality Yondu sends his henchmen to kidnap Peter Quill but instead kidnap the young prince of Wakanda surprised by the courage of the young Yondu offers to explore the universe from that moment T'Challa becomes a real Robin Hood and helps everyone in the galaxy managing to convince the genocidal Thanos to leave behind his idea to eradicate half of the galaxy while everything seems perfect in his life, the real reason for his solidarity and selflessness is because he was told that his home in Wakanda was destroyed so he feels a constant need to save the homes of others.
Star-Lord/ T'Challa: Nuestro Rey favorito pero vuelto un autentico aventurero espacial, en esta realidad Yondu envía a sus secuaces a secuestrar a Peter Quill pero en vez de eso secuestran al joven príncipe de Wakanda sorprendidos por el valor del joven Yondu le ofrece explorar el universo desde ese momento T'Challa se vuelve un autentico Robin Hood y ayuda a todos en la galaxia logrando convencer al genocida de Thanos de dejar atrás su idea de erradicar la mitad de la galaxia si bien todo parece perfecto en su vida,la verdadera razón de su solidaridad y desinterés es debido a que le dijeron que su hogar en Wakanda fue destruido por lo que siente un necesidad constante de salvar los hogares de los demás.
- Dr Stephen Strange Supreme: We all know the story of Dr. Stephen Strange the successful surgeon who ended up losing his hands in an accident and with them his career in search of a cure goes to Kamar-Taj where he learns the mystic arts and eventually saves the world from Dormammu but in this reality he was not alone during the accident and what he ends up losing is not his hands but his heart even after defeating the being from the dark dimension his mind was still focused on the past so he decides to break the rules as sorcerer supreme and try to change the past at all costs, Although he possesses the same knowledge and abilities as his other incarnation, his determination and obsession to change the past lead him to take a wrong path that ends up giving him severe consequences.
Dr Stephen Strange Supremo: Todos conocemos la historia del Dr Stephen Strange el exitoso cirujano que termino perdiendo sus manos en un accidente y con ellas su carrera en busca de una cura va a Kamar-Taj donde aprende las artes místicas y eventualmente salva al mundo de Dormammu pero en esta realidad el no iba solo durante el accidente y lo que termina perdiendo no son sus manos sino su corazón aun después de vencer al ser proveniente de la dimensión oscura su mente seguía enfocada en el pasado por lo que decide romper las reglas como hechicero supremo e intentar cambiar el pasado a toda costa, si bien posee la mismos conocimiento y habilidades que su otra encarnación su determinación y obsesión por modificar el pasado lo llevan a tomar un camino equivocado que termina por darle severas consecuencias.
- N'Jadaka/Erik "Killmonger" Stevens: Cousin of our favorite King and a master of deception in this reality decides to save Tony Stark from the attempt on his life which led him to become Iron Man, but later reveals the sinister intentions of Obadiah Stane gaining the favor of the billionaire playboy so he manipulates him to build his drones and with them invade Wakanda. Although he seems invincible in this reality because he is more patient and methodical and always one step ahead of the others, it is quite obvious that his ambition has no limits and nothing will stop him to get what he wants but what he does not know is that no matter how skillful the villain is, no evil is without consequences.
N'Jadaka/Erik "Killmonger" Stevens: Primo de nuestro Rey favorito y un maestro del engaño en esta realidad decide salvar a Tony Stark del atentado en su contra el cual lo llevo a ser Iron man mas tarde revela las siniestras intensiones de Obadiah Stane ganándose el favor del multimillonario playboy por lo que lo manipula para que construya sus drones y con ellos invadir Wakanda. Si bien parece invencible en esta realidad pues es mas paciente y metódico ademas de ir siempre un paso delante de los demás es bastante obvio que su ambición no tiene limites y nada lo detendrá para conseguir lo que quiere pero lo que no sabe es que sin importar que tan diestro sea el villano ningún mal queda sin consecuencias.
- Thor Odinson: The legendary god of thunder, an imposing and powerful being with a lot of charisma and humor although his relationship with his adoptive brother was not the best without this our prince would be very different, in this reality Loki was returned to his parents and Thor grew up to be a party animal without control although he has the same powers as his other incarnation has little or no self-control destroying worlds with his wild parties.
Thor Odinson: El legendario dios del trueno, un ser imponente y poderoso con mucho carisma y humor aunque si bien su relación con su hermano adoptivo no fue la mejor sin esta nuestro príncipe seria muy diferente, en esta realidad Loki fue regresado a sus padres y Thor creció para ser un fiestero sin control si bien posee los mismos poderes que su otra encarnación posee poco o ningún auto-control destruyendo mundos con sus fiestas salvajes.
- Peter Parker/Spider-man: If you don't know this character let me tell you that you live in a cave, Marvel's iconic superhero is one of the main characters in the chapter "What if... there were Zombies!". In this chapter he demonstrates his unwavering optimism by standing his ground as his situation and that of others continues to worsen and to see how he inspires the other heroes to keep going is heartwarming. He remains maskless for much of the episode possibly due to the fact that in the zombie apocalypse there is no need to maintain a secret identity.
Peter Parker/Spider-man: Si no conoces a este personaje déjame decirte que vives en una cueva, superheroe icono de marvel es uno de los protagonistas en el capitulo "¡¿Qué pasaría si... hubiera Zombis?!". En este capitulo demuestra su inquebrantable optimismo al mantenerse firme mientras su situación y de los demás continua empeorando el ver como inspira a los otros héroes a seguir adelante es algo conmovedor. Se mantiene sin mascara durante gran parte del episodio posiblemente debido a que en la apocalipsis zombis no se necesita mantener una identidad secreta.
- Hank Pym / Yellowjacket: The creator of the Pym particle and the original Ant-man in the reality we know is the mentor of Scoot Lang and the father of Hope but in this reality Hank lost Hope his only daughter added to the disappearance of his wife this fact ends up breaking his mind full of anger decides to take revenge on Nick Fury killing what most treasures, see how Hank was broken by the pain and grief of the death of his daughter was really sad without a doubt one of the most painful moments of the series.
Hank Pym / Yellowjacket: El creador de la partícula Pym y el original Ant-man en la realidad que conocemos es el mentor de Scoot Lang y el padre de Hope pero en esta realidad Hank perdió a Hope su única hija sumado a la desaparición de su esposa este hecho termina quebrando su mente lleno de ira decide vengarse de Nick Fury asesinando lo que mas atesora, ver como Hank se rompió por el dolor y la pena de la muerte de su hija fue realmente triste sin duda uno de los momentos mas dolorosos de la serie.
Conclusion:
The marvel universe is expanding more and more if you thought Endgame was the end you couldn't be more wrong with alternate realities, with new heroes and several shadows in the distance it is obvious that we will have Marvel for a while maybe the times are changing and the current situation is getting more difficult every day but find time to see those superheroes that no matter the difficulties manage to get up again and again, I'm not saying that the situation is going to improve by watching these movies or series but forget for a few minutes your problems and laugh with your loved ones is an experience you won't want to forget.
El universo marvel esta expandiéndose cada vez mas si pensaste que Endgame fue el final no podrías estar mas equivocado con realidades alternativas, con nuevos héroes y varias sombras en la lejanía es obvio que tendremos Marvel para rato puede que los tiempos estén cambiando y la situación actual es cada día mas difícil pero encontrar tiempo para ver aquellos superheroes que sin importar las dificultades logran levantarse una y otra vez, no digo que la situación vaya a mejorar con ver estas películas o series pero olvidar por unos minutos tus problemas y reír con tus seres queridos es una experiencia que no querrás olvidar.
