One of the series that has pleasantly surprised me since its premiere has been Riverdale, because it shows how a group of characters that are almost unknown can be taken to a very protagonist field when they are developed correctly and especially when they are given a more adult twist that highlights more realistic and interesting aspects of society.

Riverdale is a series that takes a few famous characters from a comic and places them in a risky, intense and dramatic environment, with an adult, dark and violent stories that make us hook very fast with the plot.

Today I want to share with you my opinion about the first chapter of this new season.

Last season our protagonists had to face really complex problems **-SPOILER-** Archie was living away from Riverdale to try to recover a little tranquility after having gone through some really tormenting moments, meanwhile Veronica deals with the bar she tries to run without her father getting into her problems, and Jug and Betty try to investigate the whole issue of the diabolical game that is causing death among the young people of the town. Last season was a festival of problems; demonic games, new gangs, drugs and even a cult that kept Betty away from her family.

Fortunately, our young protagonists were able to get ahead and help solve some of these intense problems, yet they still feel the aftermath of all the chaos in Riverdale.

# # Riverdale - Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam (S04E01) # The previous season was full of drama and intensity, with lots of moments that left us with open mouth and with a rush of adrenaline but in the end everything was resolved and apparently everything was over for the better; however in the last scene we saw a preview of what would be this season, a scene where Betty, Veronica and Archie were nude in the forest burning some kind of evidence related to Jughead and his apparently disappearance/death. That final scene left us surprised and eager for this new season.

However, this season doesn't exactly begin by advancing the story, but rather takes this first chapter to pay tribute to the death of the actor who plays Archie's father, who recently died and will no longer be able to appear in the series. The chapter is meant to highlight the father-son relationship that Archie had with a man who was everything to him, a man who was his example and who taught him all the good and bad of this world. The rhythm of this chapter is somewhat slow but manages to create a great atmosphere of melancholy, sadness and longing, letting us know love and how important Archie's dad was to everyone in history.
