Fresh after rewatching The Avengers, I follow up with what happens to Loki. Nevermind Iron Man 3, it's ok if I don't rewatch it. π
So let's get on with my movie review shall we.
I don't think I need to say it anymore but still, SPOILER ALERT!

β¦ The Cast β¦
Here are some of the cast members in the movie.
β Chris Hemsworth plays Thor. Asgard's god of Thunder and the heir to the throne.
β Natalie Portman plays Jane Foster. Thor's love interest, an astrophysicist.
β Tom Hiddleston plays Loki. Thor's adopted brother, the god of mischief.
β Anthony Hopkins plays Odin. Asgard's current king and father to Thor and Loki.
β Zachary Levi plays Fandral.
A third of the Warriors Three of Asgard.
β¦ The Trailer β¦
The trailer is much cooler than the movie except Loki. Haha.#
β¦ Synopsis β¦
Upon arriving there, Odin wanted nothing to do with her. Again the same alien power reacted and thus they discover she is host to the Aether. Eventually the dark elves who once tried to use it to bring the world back into darkness awakened and came looking for Jane. They arrived on Asgard and attacked, hoping to get her but instead killed Odin's wife (Frigga) in the process before they escaped. From there the conflict ensues.

Jane is treasonously taken to the Dark Elves' planet by Thor and Loki. The Aether is removed from her body. Loki dies and the Dark Elves leave them all for Earth.
Thor and Jane gets to Earth and rescues the world and the 9 Realms from being back in the dark again. The End.
β¦ Artgirl's Review β¦
Clearly I am a Loki fan. Even if he is a bad guy I feel bad for him. π But of course I do not root for him, especially when he does traitorous things to his adoptive family. If he's so angry with his lot in life why isn't he the Hulk, eh? πβ Characters & Story
Anyway the storyline is great in it's own way. Not too out of this world or mindblowing like The Avengers but enough to satisfy viewers.
Perhaps it's more of a favorite of science geeks? All those scientific terms and the "spooky" things that were happening probably made them like the movie more than me. Frankly I got a bit bored while waiting for some Loki screen time. And then when he came around wearing chains, oh that's one of the best scenes.
It's very much a dysfunctional family story after that. The blacksheep Loki is returned home as a prisoner only to add more havoc when given the chance. How sad. His love for his mother was not enough to stop him from causing her death. Such a tragedy that Loki does not see how his misguided thoughts and actions result in the tragedies in his life.
Still I didn't rewatch it for the story. I only did because Loki is there. π Goes to show the story is not at par with The Avengers but it's good enough. I like the saving the world angle but too much science killed it for me. I dunno. Haha.
As far as the characters go, I think only Loki's was fully threshed out. Second would be Zachary's character. And then Thor too. Other than that, it's like character development isn't much of a focus. Again, it's more of a family and science story.

The Dark Elf Malekeith was simple enough in his evilness. He wasn't overly bad at all. Just determined to bring back darkness to the world. He believes in a supposed noble cause good only for them.
Oh here's the movie's most quotable quote, courtesy of Loki. Watch this clip:
Finally Thor has accepted how sneaky, cunning and bad Loki is. Good for him!
β Acting
The rest of the cast did well enough in portraying their characters. Most notable are below.
In 2013, it was surprising to find out Zachary Levi was going to be in the movie. He didn't seem out of place then so that's good. This time I noticed how he made the character more fun and quite sarcastic too. π Plus he had more solo screen time than his movie team mates. Big leap in his career back then I bet. Hehe.
Also I noticed Loki's character here is more mischievous and playful. There wasn't much of the vengeful attitude he had on Earth. It's like he's just happy to be home in Asgard even if he's in jail.

The emotionally charged father-son scene of Loki and Odin though is the best acting sequence in my opinion. Nothing but the best from two great actors.
### β Cinematography, Production Design & Music Oh I like how Asgard looked and of course the Rainbow Bridge or Bifrost is still my favorite thing of all. Plus the pattern left whenever the it appears on Earth, it's pretty cool. The palace interiors look nice too. Asgard set design is impressive enough for me, also alien set locations were just perfect.
The music fits the scenes and indeed adds more value to it.
Perhaps the best part of the movie would be the graphics. CGI was admirable. My favorite is the Book of Yggdrasil. Oh all that glittering gold in the pages... and it was moving too. Ah pure art heaven.
In other news, hey look, here's a Thor and Loki cookie.
