Today I watched a very interesting film, maybe I was too late to watch it, because this is a 2013 film which maybe at that time I was still busy in college and never thought of watching this film. Pandemic made me add a new hobby, namely watching movies that have a plot twist. Weird isn't it? Ahahah
So, this time I want to tell the plot of the film Prisioner (2013).

The Storyline
The Beginning At the beginning of the movie, it is told that one thanks giving night, two children named Anna and Joy are missing and cannot be found anywhere. That night, Anna Sister was suspicious of a caravan parked near an empty house in their complex, because during the day Anna and Joy seemed to be playing near the caravan. But when they checked the caravan, it was gone and had disappeared. Then the two families reported to the police for the loss of their two children. Detective Loki was assigned to solve the case of the kidnapping of the two children, and Detective Loki managed to find the caravan parked at a gas station. The driver of the caravan named Alex who looks 30 years old but has the ability to think like a 10 year old child. Detective Loki seems trivial with Alex because he thinks that it's impossible for Alex to kidnap Anna and Joy, while to speak, Alex looks very confused. Even in the caravan there was no strong forensic evidence that the two children had been kidnapped using the car. Finally Alex was released and Alex went home to his aunt who had taken care of Alex since childhood. But Keller, Anna's father believed that Alex was the abductor, when at the Police station, Keller looked angry and hit Alex, but Alex only whispered softly in Keller's ear and said "They didn't cry until I left them". Keller's emotions are getting more and more brutal until Keller is arrested by the police and Alex goes home with his aunt. Finally, because Keller did not believe in the performance of the Police at that time, Keller decided to handle Alex himself. He followed Alex and one time Keller was shocked when he saw Alex walking his dog, Alex sang a song that Anna and Joy made on Thanksgiving night, the song was only known to the family.
Who Alex?
Then at that time, Keller kidnapped Joy in the old building inherited by Keller's parents. There Alex is held captive and beaten so that Alex is honest to tell where Anna and Joy are. Keller is helped by Joy's father in the old building. However, still Alex didn't admit anything while speaking incoherently like saying “escape from the labyrinth”. Somewhere, detective Loki is investigating a case. He investigates a house belonging to a priest and finds a body in a secret cellar. The priest said that the corpse was a person who had come to make a confession for kidnapping many children. The priest was shocked and immediately locked the man in the priest's secret underground house until he died. Detective Loki felt that the priest's case had nothing to do with the kidnapping of Anna and Joy, then Detective Loki also interviewed Mrs. Miller, a mother who was grieving because her son named Berry was kidnapped 26 years earlier. But again and again, Loki felt that this info had nothing to do with Anna and Joy's disappearance.
Misterious Figure
On the night of the vigil for Anna and Joy's disappearance, detective Loki notices a suspicious hooded figure. The figure realized that he was being watched by detective Loki and then the figure tried to escape and managed to escape. The figure also tried to infiltrate Anna and Joy's house without knowing what it meant. Finally detective Loki spread a sketch of the hooded figure, at that time someone reported that the mysterious figure often bought children's clothes at his shop, finally the mysterious figure was tracked down and it was known he was Taylor. When arrested, Taylor looks like he has a mental breakdown and is obsessed with mazes. In his house there are lots of labyrinth sketches and chests containing lots of snakes and children's clothes that are stained with blood. When arrested, Taylor admitted that he was the one who kidnapped Anna and Joy, but instead of speaking clearly to the police, he was busy drawing a maze that didn't last for hours. Very annoyed, detective Loki bullies Taylor into letting him know where Anna and Joy are, but unfortunately, Taylor takes a policeman's knife and then commits suicide. Keller and Joy's father identify the clothes in Taylor's house, and yes, there are Anna and Joy's. Keller was annoyed and blamed detective Loki, he thought this all happened because according to Keller, the police and detectives did not really handle the kidnapping case of his son. Keller doesn't give up and he returns to Alex's captivity and tortures Alex. Here, Alex opens his mouth and he says to meet Anna and Joy in the maze. Then Keller went straight to Alex's aunt's house. But there he saw the news of Taylor's suicide and he immediately returned to the police station. Meanwhile, Loki, who had been scolded by his superiors because of Taylor's suicide, looked stressed as he ruffled his desk. Loki's eyes were fixed on the photo of the corpse held by the priest, and it turned out that the corpse was wearing a necklace with a maze picture, and fitting into Taylor's maze it looked the same. Not long after that, Loki was called by a friend who identified Taylor's house to come to Taylor's house as soon as possible. According to his friend Loki, Taylor is not the original kidnapper, he is just pretending to be obsessed with being a kidnapper because he has a history of being kidnapped as a child. Keller and his wife are informed that Joy has been found, so they say that Anna and Joy were kidnapped and drugged, but Joy managed to escape but Anna was caught again. At the hospital, Joy who was not fully conscious said "You were there, they were tapering our mouths". At that time Keller immediately became suspicious of Alex's aunt's house.
Who Is Kidnapper?
While at Aunt Alex's house, Keller pretended to offer to help Aunt Alex fix the door, but unfortunately Aunt Alex realized Keller's intention to come to her house, and Aunt Keller immediately pointed a gun at Keller and forced Keller to drink drugs. In that scene, this is where Alex's aunt says that Alex only took Anna and Joy out for a walk, but she was the one who held Anna and Joy captive. Aunt Alex exposed her crime, that she had a child who had cancer and died. Aunt Alex said that she had been kidnapping children with her husband for a long time, as a form of protest to God to make all parents whose children were kidnapped would not believe in God anymore. The more children are kidnapped, the more parents are as angry at God as they are. Finally Keller was shot by Alex's aunt in the thigh and Keller was ordered to go into a hole near Aunt Alex's old car. Keller did not give up and looked for things that could help him, but all he got was Anna's whistle. Not long ago, Loki came to Aunt Alex's house and a shootout ensued, before Anna was injected with a dangerous liquid by Alex's aunt, but at that time Alex's aunt was shot and died. Then with a gunshot wound severe enough to hit Detective Loki, he took Anna to the nearest hospital. Thankfully Anna and detective Loki survived the death.
Keller Still Alive?
Long story short, Alex turns out to be the son of Mrs. Miller, who was interviewed by detective Loki at the beginning of the scene. Alex is Berry who is a child who was kidnapped by the kidnapper's mother 26 years ago. At the end of the scene, Detective Loki passes the kidnapper's aunt's house. He heard a whistle, at first he thought that it was just his imagination, but it turned out that the sound was clearly heard by Loki. In your opinion, did Keller survive the fate that befell him?
