A Quiet Place: Day one takes us to explore the earlier stages of the invasion by the extraterrestrial creatures with hypersensitive hearing. This time we follow Samira played by Lupita Nyong'o who is in New York when the invasion begins. She and the others must find their way through the city and be quiet so they are not discovered by the monsters. In general, there are good acting performances throughout the film, and like the previous films, they use sound and silence to create tension. I still thought this one didn't live up to the first I wrote about in particular, it was much better. But if you like apocalyptic horror and intense atmosphere, you will probably like it. I give this a 7.
