It's been many years since I saw this, but I really wanted to see something post-apocalyptic and have seen most of it from recent times. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and is from 2013 with Tom Cruise in the lead role.😃
In the film we follow Jack Harper, a technician who maintains drones that protect the remains of humanity from hostile beings. During this work on a seemingly deserted planet, secrets emerge that turn everything he thought he knew about his world and himself upside down. I really like the visuals in the film, great landscapes and futuristic style and good soundtracks enhance the depth and dreamy atmosphere. Tom Cruise delivers a solid performance along with other talented actors like Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko. The plot can seem predictable at times and the dialogues a bit clichéd, but overall a good sci-fi film for the eyes. This is still an 8 for me.
