Hey guys, it was time for a new movie. Wanted to see something scary, maybe a thriller horror. I was thinking of watching Bird Box Barcelona or Dont Breath from 2016 but happened to see an ad for The Watchers which came out this year. It looked interesting, so that's what I watched instead. The others will have to wait.😃
The Watchers is a thriller based on the book by A.M. Shine. It is also the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan. It came out in 2024 and we follow Mina, played by Dakota Fanning, as she gets lost in an unexplored forest in western Ireland. She finds shelter in a bunker with others, it turns out that they are prisoners and they must follow strict rules to survive. The film started really well and surprisingly, then it slowed down a bit, but halfway through I was carried away. It also has an unexpected ending that will surprise you and the film explores themes of identity, survival and unexpected events that can keep you on the edge of your seat. For my part, the film lacks depth and the dialogue can be a bit thin at times and the genre is a bit unclear. But the entertainment was good and it was a thriller, something I wanted to see, so it gets a 6 from me. Or should it get a 7?
