There are many presumably awesome movies lined up for 2022 and Clean is definitely not one of them. It was a movie that I honestly wish I never downloaded and 100% glad I got it from a sketchy website because if I had paid money for it, I'd be pissed.
Let me start by saying that this will be the last time I'll ever decide to download a pirated copy of a movie, simply because I saw one of my favourite actors in it. The movie has an IMDB rating of 5.7, so there goes their credibility.
I can't place my finger on it but there's something mysterious and just generally cool about Adrien Brody's performances in movies.
In this movie, Adrien still had his general coolness about him. Unfortunately, virtually everything else sucked.
The movie follows the life of a garbage man named Clean. He's a quiet guy that usually pawns off stuff to a local near him.
He's haunted by the past and you know, the usual crap about him being a killer. His weapon of choice is a heavy duty pipe wrench that he uses to whack his victims in the face.
Somewhere along the line, he had a daughter that died. Now he's interested in protecting a teenage girl on his street and all that type of crap.
So this guy takes a trip down memory lane, goes on a killing spree and all that shit simply because of the stranger.
Impression
I wish there was more to add to the movie but that is literally everything about it. It is impossible to even talk about the movie without giving out spoilers because there's not much to even talk about.
It had some violence, so you know I'm definitely going to vibe with that. However, the action sequences were just bleh.
For an action movie that is supposed to portray mindless and completely unnecessary violence, the movie didn't really do justice. I was hoping we'd be seeing some ridiculous stunts, explosions and stuff like that to cater for the complete lack of depth in storytelling.
On the plus side, the movie had a runtime of about 90 minutes, so it didn't take too long to put viewers out of their misery. You can watch it passively and it is over before you know it.
Whether you focus or watch it passively, you'll be able to easily decipher the storyline. I believe we're coming to the point where all action movies should also be classed in a genre called "idiot friendly". This way, I'll know what I'm expecting when I decide to download another pirated movie.
I give the movie a generous 4/10 because I like watching Adrien Brody. He's very cool and I'd like to drink beer with him someday. Everything else sucked and if you're not a fan of Adrien, you're better off watching Baby Shark videos on Youtube.
