As a lover of comedy with some tension. The movie 72 hours makes a big hit. Its funny, dramatic and exciting to watch , with a mixture of high emotions, friendship, love and bonds. Let's get right into the movie 72 hours.
The movie 72 hours is a very beautiful netflix comedy featuring Kevin Hart, Teyana Taylor, Manson Gooding and Marcello Hernandez. It is directed by Tim story. In the movie we see Joe Nixon a man in his 40s who is an advertising executive. His career was going took a sudden turn for the worse. Being added in a strange group chat of some men planning a bachelor party in Miami . He actually needed to step up his game so he took that opportunity to mingle and understand the young folks well.
Joe went for the bachelor's party initially as business opportunity rather than a get away . He wanted to mingle with other young men , understand them and use it for his business advertising ideas. Well things are not working out well for him there either and everything becomes chaotic.
The bachelor's party that started of drinking and partying becomes dangerous turning in a lot of problems involving relationships problems,drugs, money, criminals and trafficking. Joe ever willing to make things right still tries to make sure he is the perfect guy. The comedy in the whole bachelors party makes a little more exaggerated.
Kevin harts who played the role of Joe is generally known to be insecure,ambitious and always desperate to prove himself that he can still compete with the gen z. A lot of humour comes from seeing a 40 year old man try to fit into the shoes of some young guys in their 20's while trying to fit into their standards.
Taking my time to watch this movie I got a deeper revelation that Joe's problems are not because he is young it is because he is dealing with insecurities that he is too afraid to admit, he is scared of becoming irrelevant in his business. He struggles to understand the fact his relationship is not moving forward.
He couldn't control his problem as a man but he zooms off with strangers to a bachelor's party instead. Joe is a genuine character underneath the jokes and ridiculous moments . In this movie Joe works beautiful with the young casts surrounding him. The different personalities gave the bachelors party a different view . Hernandez brings a strong comic presence.
Teyana Taylor was not much seen in the movie but her character as Jennifer is very important as she played a very supportive for Joe storyline. The movie was more centred on the bachelor party and partly on their relationship. This hides the emotional side of the movie leaving the audience starved of the romance.
72 hours is a ridiculous and funny movie ,if you are looking for a funny comedy to watch with friends and family, then I suggest 72 hours for the weekend to relax. I had fun watching this over the weekend.
It's a 100/100 for me.
