Alakada bad and Bouje started looking like an overdo and an act of just exploiting viewers because it's sure that we would normally want to see what's done in the new release again. Although after watching, it's the same story line, but it was fun watching it.Alakada: Bad and Boujee is a fun, chaotic Nollywood comedy that uses Yetunde’s exaggerated lies and fake-luxury lifestyle to poke fun at social-media pressure, clout chasing, class differences, and the desire to appear successful.
Alakada the Bad and Bouje is a Nollywood movie produced by Toyin Aimaku along other executive producers as well. A story of a struggling family and a wolf philanthropist in the human body. Alakada from the onset has always been a fake lifestyle of a young lady right from her university days. She believes that the rich do not want to have any association or relationship with the poor so for you as an average person to mingle with them, you must pretend to be like them.
Without doubts, this strategy actually works for her so much that many opportunities came through for her, with brands wanting to meet with her or invite her and her team for programs as special guests but then, her extraordinary lies are of the high extreme that she ends up destroying all she has built and it's always very embarrassing to watch how big her lies are and how she's being caught in scenes she's meant to be caught. I literally had to cover my face with my palms, lol
From this version of the Alakada, Yetunde, played by Toyin Aimaku has two other friends, Rebecca (Bimbo Ademoye) and Abebi (Lizzy) whom they were also together in the fake life business but then,Yetunde will always remain their boss. An older brother, Jide (Odun Adekola) who also went extra for the survival of the family and a younger sister, Mayowa who was practically in an abusive relationship because of her sister Yetunde.
It's a movie of survival although in the wrong direction, a movie that preached against domestic violence, and a means to caution job seekers and open their eyes to how they can simply be lured and deceived into being butchered for organ harvesting because they were looking for means to survive. It's also a movie to reorient people about Lagos Island indigene on the myths and misconception of being rugged and not always educated.
The fight scenes were okay based on the year it was released, the cinematography, the acting, the real locations and all others were cool as well. So, I await to see the latest release to judge if there is any improvement of which there should be. Although It feels tiring knowing that it's still the same storyline but then the reviews I've heard about it seems nice.
If you're a huge fan of funny Nigerian movies, I'll recommend you add this to your to-watch queue for the weekend. I rate it a 90 /100.
