“ROOM” THOUGHTS ABOUT THE FILM.
The kidnapping of young people between the ages of 12 and 18 has had great weight for more than 20 years, such shocking cases have come to light that it is no longer a secret or taboo, it is a reality that attacks our society and of which today in day has not been able to escape.
Thousands of cases have been presented in recent years of which we do not know half of them because of how far from reality they are in our lives. Many families have had the unfortunate situation of going through this situation that has torn the most sensitive fibers of the human being.
“ROOM” PENSAMIENTOS SOBRE LA PELÍCULA.
El secuestro de jóvenes entre los 12 y 18 años han tenido gran peso desde hace más de 20 años, casos tan impactantes han salido la luz que ya no es un secreto o tabú, es una realidad que ataca nuestra sociedad y de la cual hoy en día no se ha podido escapar.
Miles de casos se han presentado en los últimos años de los cuales no conocemos la mita de ellos por lo alejado de la realidad que se encuentran de nuestras vidas. Muchas familias han tenido la lamentable situación de pasar por esta situación que ha desgarrado las fibras más sensibles del ser humano.

THE ROOM or The Room in Spanish, tells the story of a young woman who at 17 was kidnapped by one of her neighbors from the community where she resides. For 7 years she is she girl she was locked in an attic for 7 years. Where she lived difficult situations, going through Sexual violence.
A delicate issue for many people that must be handled with white gloves so as not to indirectly affect those who have suffered similar situations. I'm not going to talk about whether the film is good or bad, the truth is that this time I want to openly express my opinion on this particular issue.
THE ROOM o La Habitación en Español, nos cuenta la historia de una joven que a sus 17 años fue secuestrada por uno de sus vecinos de la comunidad donde reside. Durante 7 años está chica fue encerrada en un ático por 7 años. Donde vivió situaciones difíciles, pasando por la Violencia sexual.
Un tema delicado para muchas personas que se debe manejar con guantes blancos para no afectar indirectamente a quienes han sufrido situaciones parecidas. No voy a hablar si la película es buena o mala, la verdad en esta oportunidad quiero expresar mi opinión abiertamente sobre este tema tan particular.

The film opens a corridor with two directions, that is, with two totally different realities that take place in the same place and time. Which makes it so shocking for those who observe the background situation.
THE WORLD THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD
Two realities that try to be part of the same world, but that have two nuances so distant that it can fracture the soul in half. We can see a reality that belongs to the character of the child who lives in a world where limits do not exist and everything is possible. His imagination is so great that they present us with a world so different from the one we can actually see within the four walls where they are.
La película nos abre un pasillo con dos direcciones es decir con dos realidades totalmente diferentes que se desarrollan en el mismo lugar y momento. Lo cual lo hace tan impactante para quien observa la situación de fondo.
Él MUNDO A TRAVÉS DE LOS OJOS DE UN NIÑO
Dos realidades que intentan formar parte de un mismo mundo, pero que tienen dos matices tan distantes que puede fracturar el alma a la mitad. Podemos ver una realidad que es del personaje del niño quien vive en un mundo donde los límites no existen y todo es posible. Su imaginación es tan grande que nos presentan un mundo tan diferente al que podemos ver en realidad dentro de las cuatro paredes donde se encuentran.
It is obvious that he does not understand what they are going through, there is no thought in his head that they have been separated from the world and that something is happening around them that is not normal.
But for him, his world is those 4 walls and nothing is more important than that reality that he knows regardless of what happens behind everything. We can notice how he introduces us to a place where everything has meaning and that nothing is light, each object in the room has his story.
The little TV in the room is a magical window that shows a bit of the real world, but for this little boy it is just fantasy and nothing is real. Try to separate that from what means something to him and the rest is just a fairy tale.
Es obvio que él no entiende por lo que están pasando, por su cabeza no existe ese pensamiento de que han sido apartados del mundo y que a su alrededor sucede algo que no es normal.
Pero para el su mundo son esas 4 paredes y nada es más importante que esa realidad que él conoce sin importar lo que sucede detrás de todo. Podemos notar como nos introduce en un lugar donde todo tiene significado y que nada está a la ligera cada objeto en la habitación tiene su historia.
El pequeño televisor en la habitación es una ventana mágica que muestra un poco del mundo real, pero que para este pequeño niño solo es fantasía y nada es real. Intenta separar eso de lo que para él significa algo y lo demás solo es un cuento de hadas.
The small window in the room represents the day for the child and the night is the means by which he can know when to sleep or wake up. Every aspect that we see related in the film from the child's point of view generates some anxiety to see how his childhood must have been for his world to be so different from the one he is really living.
REALITY AND SUFFERING THROUGH THE EYES OF AN INJURED WOMAN
From this point everything changes and we can see the misfortune of a young woman who has lost 7 years of her life trapped between 4 walls that has become hell for her from that first day that everything changed.
La pequeña ventana en la habitación representa para el niño el día y la noche es el medio por el cual pude saber cuando dormir o despertar. Cada aspecto que vemos relatados en la película desde el punto de vista del niño nos genera algo de ansiedad por ver como debió ser su niñez para que su mundo fuera tan distinto al que realmente está viviendo.
LA REALIDAD Y EL SUFRIMIENTO A TRAVÉS DE LOS OJOS DE UNA MUJER LASTIMADA
Desde este punto todo cambia y podemos ver la desgracia de una joven mujer que ha perdido 7 años de su vida atrapada entre 4 paredes que se ha convertido en un infierno para ella desde ese primer día que todo cambió.
A wound so deep that it burns every beat of his heart, we see the other side of the coin that other reality so dark that it puts cold blood just thinking about a situation like that and less thinking about living something similar.
The woman does everything possible to try not to change the reality of her son and she hides within herself those feelings of anger, hatred, suffering that is killing her little by little. But she puts the happiness of her son above all else while within her there is a war.
We can understand the reasons why she does it and it is to be admired, but we can also notice how her youth stolen from her destroys her and indirectly affects her son in that difficult process.
Una herida tan profunda que quema cada latido de su corazón, vemos el otro lado de la moneda esa otra realidad tan oscura que pone la sangre fría de solo pensar en una situación como esa y menos pensar vivir algo parecido.
La mujer hace todo lo posible para intentar no cambiar la realidad de su hijo y oculta dentro de sí esos sentimientos de rabia, odio, sufrimiento que la va matando poco a poco. Pero pone la felicidad de su hijo ante todo mientras dentro de ella existe una guerra.
Podemos entender las razones por lo que lo hace y es de admirar, pero también podemos notar como su juventud robada la destruye y afecta indirectamente su hijo en ese proceso tan difícil.
THE AGGRESSOR
This man has an aggressive and dark personality that leaves little room to understand what's going on in his head and is something that psychologists have studied for years. The erratic behavior of these people who have no respect for human freedom and the limits that we should never cross against anyone's will.
A character who has no sense of empathy and respect for human beings who are forced to live in a place that he has imposed is their lives. Trying to understand this behavior is difficult, since the aggressor is not a person who can be understood, since nothing he does has any value for society.
The aggressor has no pleasure in committing the act of kidnapping or sexual violence, this individual derives pleasure from seeing his victims subdued by his power. A power that only comes from his aggressive personality and that is carried towards the most defenseless.
EL AGRESOR
Este hombre tiene una personalidad agresiva y oscura que deja poco espacio para entender que pasa por su cabeza y es algo que psicólogos han estudiado desde hace años. El comportamiento errático de estas personas que no tienen respecto por la libertad humana y los límites que jamás deberíamos cruzar en contra la voluntad de nadie.
Un personaje que no tiene sentido de empatía y respecto por unos seres humanos que son obligados a vivir en un lugar que él ha impuesto es sus vidas. Tratar de entender este comportamiento es difícil, ya que el agresor no es una persona que se pueda comprender, ya que nada de lo que hace tiene valor alguna para la sociedad.
El agresor no tiene placer por cometer el acto de secuestro o violencia sexual, este individuo obtiene placer por ver a sus víctimas sometidas por su poder. Un poder que solo viene de su agresiva personalidad y que es llevada hacia los más indefensos.
The aggressor is only an animal in search of defenseless prey.
WHEN THE NIGHTMARE AND A DREAM ENDS
This situation reflects again two found realities that are not located in the same context and that despite having awakened from a Nightmare for the other party is like having finished a beautiful dream or at least the security of what he knew as home.
The child fixes his thoughts in the past in that place that he has always known and that after 5 years he had total control over what happened in those 4 walls. We could call it the magic box and it is the correct name for the situation that the child experienced, which is different from that of the mother who has awakened from that Nightmare.
El agresor solo es un animal es busca de una presa indefensa.
CUANDO LA PESADILLA Y UN SUEÑO TERMINA
Está situación refleja nuevamente dos realidades encontradas que no se ubican en el mismo contexto y que a pesar de haber despertado de una Pesadilla para la otra parte es como haber terminado un sueño hermoso o por lo menos la seguridad de aquello que conoció como hogar.
El niño fija sus pensamientos en el pasado en ese lugar que desde siempre conoció y que al pasar de 5 años tuvo total control sobre lo que sucedía en esas 4 paredes. Lo podríamos llamar la caja mágica y es el nombre correcto para la situación que vivió el niño la cual es distinta a la de la madre que ha despertado de esa Pesadilla.
Feeling that everything is new and unknown must be overwhelming for a child and we feel raw what may be going through his head. Time can play in his favor, as he has everything around him to heal that memory and build a new one.
The mother, on the other hand, lives a moment where she comes back to life and must try to build her life again, but I must heal that wound that is still open to be able to turn the page and continue.
Sentir que todo es nuevo y desconocido debe ser abrumador para un niño y sentimos a carne viva lo que puede estar pasando por su cabeza. El tiempo puede jugar favor de él, ya que tiene todo a su alrededor para sanar ese recuerdo y construir uno nuevo.
La madre por otro lado, vive un momento donde vuelve a la vida y debe intentar construir nuevamente su vida, pero debo sanar esa herida que sigue abierta para poder pasar la página y continuar.
FINAL THOUGHT
When I saw this film, the truth was that the performances or its main actors did not attract my attention, but the plot did and that caught me in a thousand ways, I couldn't help asking myself so many questions during the film and trying to get an answer. Since I have never experienced a situation like this which made it difficult for me to fix a correct thought about what I felt.
PENSAMIENTO FINAL
Cuando vi está película la verdad las actuaciones o sus actores principales no llamaron mi atención, pero la trama si y eso me atrapó de mil maneras no podía evitar durante la película hacerme tantas preguntas e intentar conseguir una repuesta. Ya que nunca he vivido una situación como está lo cual me hacía difícil fijar un pensamiento correcto sobre lo que sentía.
I cannot criticize the film or give it a rating, as it would be silly and perhaps misleading those who have suffered this type of abuse. The most correct thing is to build a thought through what I saw in the film and what it made me feel.
