🎬 SOME MOVIES LOSE SENSE WHEN THE ORDER OF THE IDEAS COME BACK ALL OVER THE PLACE AND ONLY A FEELING MAKES YOU UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE.

A few days ago I came across a movie that kept me waiting for a moment when its main character would be out of sight of any viewer and that everything would develop from that point and thus be able to connect with the synopsis that is given to us at the beginning of any movie. Obviously it is something that should not be taken as a guide but you know that the title of a film always generates an anticipated perspective of what could.

🇪🇸 ALGUNAS PELÍCULAS PIERDEN SENTIDO CUANDO EL ORDEN DE LAS IDEAS VUELVAN POR TODOS LADOS Y SOLO UN SENTIMIENTO ES QUE HACE QUE ENTIENDAS EL MENSAJE.

Hace unos días me topé con una película que me mantuvo a la espera de que en algún momento su personaje principal no estaría la vista de ningún espectador y que todo se desarrollara desde ese punto y de ese modo poder conectar con la sinopsis que se nos da al inicio de cualquier película. Obviamente es algo que no se debe tomar como una guía pero ya saben que el título de una película siempre genera una perspectiva anticipada de lo que pudiera.

I don't usually talk in my reviews about the director or screenwriter of any of the films I review, but this time I wanted to know what other work the man (Richard Linklater) who is the writer and director of this film has done, I stumbled upon the surprise that he took the reins of the 2003 film School of Rock which I enjoyed very much at the time. I wanted to get a sense of his previous work and give me an idea of what kind of director he is, but unfortunately I've only seen one film out of the dozen films under his tutelage and it's hard to get a broad idea of his style of work so I was left to just go along with his story.

For 109 minutes I wandered back and forth understanding a little more the emotional side of his main character and soaking in what might be going on in his head and that kept me very connected to the film, if you are a regular reader you should know that many of my reviews are based on my emotional side as it is the first gateway to gain or lose my attention.

🇪🇸 No suelo hablar en mis reseñas sobre el director o guionista de cualquiera de las películas a la cuales le realizó una reseña, pero en esta oportunidad quería saber qué otros trabajos había realizado el señor (Richard Linklater) quien es el guionista y director de esta película, me topé con la sorpresa de que llevo las riendas de la película School of Rock del 2003 de la cual disfrute mucho en su época. Quería tener un idea de su trabajo anterior y dame una idea de qué tipo de director es, pero lamentable te solo he visto una película de la docena de películas que están bajo su tutela y es difícil tener una idea amplia de su estilo de trabajo por lo cual solo me quedo ir de la mano con su historia.

Durante 109 minutos me pasee de un lado a otro entendiendo un poco más el lado emocional de su personaje principal y empapándome de lo que quizás pudiera estar pasando por su cabeza y eso me mantuvo muy conectado con la película, si eres un lector recurrente debes saber que muchas de mis reseñas la sustentado o las manejo desde mi lado emocional ya que es la primera puerta de entrada para ganar o perder mi atención.

Which he achieved during the first half and then everything went downhill taking as a base of support that you do not get to feel or fully grasp what the director really wanted to capture in the film and that for some moviegoers or viewers is a breaking point, but let's go into a little more context so you have a clearer idea of my opinion if you've already seen it and otherwise you will have an idea of what I thought of the film.

🎬 WHAT'S THE MOVIE ABOUT?

I'LL TELL YOU QUICKLY AND WITHOUT SPOILERS, IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!

We will know the story of Bernadette Fox (Cate Blanchett) a successful mother and wife who has what any woman wants love and professional success, her daughter Bee (Emma Nelson) is her greatest treasure and the last years of her life has been by her side, so she has left her professional side in the field of architecture in neglect, this somehow has kept off that artistic side which for many years filled her with much passion.

Something particular in Bernadette is that she does not get along very well with her neighbors and much less with the parents of her daughter's friends, this keeps her away from any social gathering although one of her neighbors named Audrey Griffin (Kristen Wiig) always does her best to reach her, but she never succeeds and ends up in one way or another displeased.

🇪🇸 Lo cual logró durante la primer mitad y después todo se fue en picada tomando como base de apoyo que no logras sentir o captar del todo lo que realmente el director quería plasmar en la película y eso para algunos cinéfilos o espectadores es un punto de quiebre, pero vamos a entrar en un poco más de contexto para que tenga una idea más clara de mi opinión si ya la has visto y de lo contrario tendrás una idea de que me pareció la película.

¿DE QUÉ TRATA LA PELÍCULA?

¡TE LO CUENTO RÁPIDO Y SIN SPOILERS, POR SI AÚN NO LA HAS VISTO!

Conoceremos la historia de Bernadette Fox (Cate Blanchett) una mujer exitosa madre y esposa que tiene lo que cualquier mujer desea amor y éxito profesional, su hija Bee (Emma Nelson) es su mayor tesoro y los últimos años de su vida ha estado a su lado, por lo cual ha dejado digamos que en abandono su lado profesional en el campo de la arquitectura esto de cierto modo ha mantenido apagado ese lado artístico lo que durante muchos años la llenaba de mucha pasión.

Algo particular en Bernadette es que no se lleva muy bien con sus vecinos y mucho menos con los padres de los amigos de su hija, esto la mantiene alejada de cualquier reunión social aunque una de sus vecinas llamada Audrey Griffin (Kristen Wiig) siempre hace lo posible para llegar a ella, pero nunca tiene éxito y termina de una forma u otra disgustadas.

The main story unfolds under the plans to make a family trip to Antarctica, but before that becomes a reality a series of events will happen that will jeopardize the trip and awaken in Bernadette a couple of emotions and ghosts that she thought would never return to her life. From this point on, there is no point in telling even more as it could ruin the story for those who have not seen it yet, but you will be able to know what I thought of it and draw your conclusions as to whether it is worth watching or not.

🎬 MY SPOILER-FREE OPINION

Although the film handles a simple narrative and does not jump from one side to another it leaves some gaps regarding what they want to develop after the first 40 minutes and is that they take a little time to detonate or present the idea that the main character stops appearing on camera to start that restlessness or uncertainty in the viewer to know where is Bernadette, which is easy to define or anticipate without much effort.

This in advance can shock the viewer if you are focused or very interested in that point within the film, as I said at the beginning sometimes the title or summary can confuse the viewer and make them take out of context any situation and focus on only what they see before the film. This doesn't mean that the movie takes a different direction and that they don't know how to execute the main idea, not at all, it's just a small detail that can mold one idea from the other.

🇪🇸 La historia principal se desarrolla bajo los planes de realizar un viaje familiar a la Antártida, pero antes de que eso sea una realidad pasaran una serie de eventos que pondrá en riesgo el viaje y despertara en Bernadette un par de emociones y fantasma que pensó que jamás volverían a su vida. Desde este punto no tiene sentido seguir contando aún más ya que podría arruinar la historia para aquellos que aún no la han visto, pero si podrás conocer que me pareció a mí y sacar tus conclusiones de que si vale la pena verla o no.

☢️AVERTENCIA☢️: Toda opinión o crítica puede estar sustentada desde lo emocional, técnico, argumental, narrativo, etc., etc. No solo desde un punto de vista filmográfico donde el nivel de conocimiento puede ser más profundo que el del usuario común, es decir no tienes que ser un CINEFILO experto para debatir sobre una película, basta con que tengas una opinión positiva, negativa o neutral para iniciar un debate sobre cualquier película. Tu conocimiento cinematográfico es bien recibido y se respeta en su totalidad cualquier recurso que desees utilizar para debatir, pero también pedimos que así como se respeta tu punto de vista puedas respetar el punto de vista de cualquier otro cinéfilo o espectador que maneje su opinión desde cualquier otra perspectiva que no sea la tuya, todo amante de PELÍCULAS opina y siente de manera distinta.

MI OPINIÓN LIBRE DE SPOILERS

Aunque la película maneja una narrativa simple y no salta de un lado a otra deja algunos vacíos con respecto a lo que desean desarrollar después de los primeros 40 minutos y es que tardan un poco en detonar o presentar la idea de que el personaje principal deje de aparecer en cámara para iniciar esa inquietud o incertidumbre en el espectador por saber dónde está Bernadette, lo cual es fácil de definir o anticipar sin mucho esfuerzo.

Esto de antemano puede chocar con el espectador si estás concentrado o muy interesado en ese punto dentro de la película, como dije al inicio a veces el título o resumen puede confundir al espectador y hacer que saque de contexto cualquier situación y se enfoque en solo lo que ve antes de la película. Esto no quiere decir que la película tome un rumbo distinto y que no sepan ejecutar la idea principal, no para nada es solo un pequeño detalle que puede moldear una idea de la otra.

IS IT A COMEDY OR A FAMILY DRAMA?, From my point of view it is neither one nor the other, it is rather the look of a woman facing a world that no longer moves as before and that, despite the little connection she can feel with the woman she was years ago, she manages at a certain point to find herself and swim within that sea of emotions that explode in her head and understands that time does not punish, it only stops when the heart stops feeling.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THEIR CHARACTERS, It will sound repetitive but when you watch the movie you will have the idea that everything revolves around the main character and it is difficult to want to talk about the other characters that to some extent serve as support but not enough to have a very important weight to make you spend time watching them on stage and thus have enough material to develop any opinion about it. What I can highlight a little bit is the work of (Kristen Wiig) who gives life to Audrey despite not having a comic side to the story she knew how to give a little more looseness to some of the scenes with more relaxed dialogues and trying to get out of her character's (Cate Blanchett) character who does a decent job but not the best of her career.

DO I RECOMMEND IT?, I repeat I am not an expert moviegoer so I handle or supported my point of view under an emotional perspective since that is what kept me interested in the film that is to say wanting to know a little more about its main character and so I can tell you that if I recommended it and surely you can understand a little more the background of the story that surrounds its protagonist.

🇪🇸 ¿ES UNA COMEDIA O DRAMA FAMILIAR?, desde mi punto de vista no es lo uno ni lo otro es más bien la mirada de una mujer ante un mundo que ya no se mueve como antes y que apear de la poca conexión que ella puede sentir con la mujer que fue hace años logra en un punto encontrarse a sí misma y nadar dentro de ese mar de emociones que explotan en su cabeza y entiende que el tiempo no castiga solo se detiene cuando el corazón deja de sentir.

HABLEMOS DE SUS PERSONAJES, sonara repetitivo pero cuando veas la película tendrás la idea de que todo gira alrededor del personaje principal y que es difícil querer hablar sobre los otros personajes que hasta cierto punto sirven de apoyo pero no el suficiente para que tengan un peso muy importante que haga que puedas pasar tiempo viéndolos en escena y de esa forma tener el material suficiente para desarrollar cualquier opinión al respecto. Lo que sí puedo destacar un poco es el trabajo de (Kristen Wiig) quien le da vida a Audrey a pesar de no tener un lado cómico la historia ella supo darle un poco más de soltura a algunas de las escenas con diálogos más relajados y que intentaban sacar de sus casillas al personaje de (Cate Blanchett) quien hace un trabajo decente pero no el mejor de su carrera.

¿LA RECOMIENDO? , repito no soy un cinéfilo experto por lo cual manejo o sustentado mi punto de vista bajo una perspectiva emocional ya que eso es lo que logró que me mantuviera interesado en la película es decir querer conocer un poco más sobre su personaje principal y por lo cual puedo decirte que si te la recomendó y de seguro podrás entender un poco más el trasfondo de la historia que rodea a su protagonista.

🎬 THE GOOD AND THE BAD

THE GOOD

• Organic development of its main character. (That is, it does not tell his story without the need to delve into his past, or fall into flashback scenes that can ruin the linear story.

THE BAD THING

• It loses a little the main focus in the last 25 minutes. (That is to say they do not compact in its totality the idea that they developed at the beginning and in a hurried way they generated situations that would have had more space minutes before to generate greater credibility, I am clear that it is a movie, but they can deceive us without giving themselves of pranks in the process.

🇪🇸 (Nota: no quiere decir que siempre manejare mis reseñas bajo un punto de vita emosional, eso seria un suicidio dentro del mundo de las reseñas, si me sigues o lees desde hace tiempote daras cuenta que suelo fijar mis reseñas desde diferentes puntos de vita).

De igual manera te invito a que la veas para que tengas una perspectiva más clara y puedas de esa forma opinar libremente sobre qué te pareció la película desde el punto de vista que lo desees y si ya las has visto seria un honor conocer tu opinión y quizás abrir debate sobre la película.

LO BUENO Y LO MALO

LO BUENO

• Desarrollo orgánico de su personaje principal. (Es decir no cuenta su historia sin la necesidad de profundizar en su pasado, ni caer en escenas flashback que puedan arruinar la historia lineal.

LO MALO

• Pierde un poco el foco principal en los últimos 25 minutos. (Es decir no compactan en su totalidad la idea que desarrollaron al inicio y de forma apresurada generaron situaciones que hubieran tenido más espacio minutos antes para generar mayor credibilidad, estoy claro que es una película, pero nos pueden engañar sin darse de piñas en el proceso.
