Overall
After watching this I felt like this was the monster movie equivalent to "Avengers End Game". The main point of the movie was to have an epic showdown between two badass monsters, and they did that very well, but they also built a lot of really good side stories around the monsters battling.
Side Stories
Outside of the monsters fighting, they also have a lot of side stories that would help make this movie interesting enough for anyone to watch. They showed a lot of the characters in the trailer but there were a couple of characters they didn't show too much that really helped to move the story along.
The main thing they don't show is the evil company that wants to profit off of the existence of the monsters and patent resources found in King Kong's home.
They also don't show you the character they use to explain what's going on and almost narrate the story. It's a guy who has a podcast, and they kind of gave him an Alex Jones type of feel, but in a good way. They did a really good job of using the character to add some comedy to the movie and to keep the audience informed.
Godzilla
Godzilla's design was amazing but as a character, he was kind of an asshole. He just tore up way too much stuff and would kill so many people for no reason. He was just really sloppy and annoying.
He just wanted to feel like other people thought he was tough and would throw temper tantrums if there were any other monsters around taking attention away from Godzilla.
King Kong
A lot more likable of a character. He was just badass and almost relatable in a way. His relationship with the girl in the trailer was a big part of that.
He also had a really cool fighting style. He used his environment and athleticism to make for some really nice hand-to-hand combat scenes between him and the other characters he fought throughout the movie.
Mega-Godzilla

The trailer actually gives a really good feel for the movie though. I'm pretty late watching this myself but if you watched any monster movies as a kid or if your failure with Godzilla and King King you should definitely check this out. I wouldn't expect the greatest movie ever, but it's definitely worth the watch.
