synopsis
After years of trying to have a baby, a couple decided on IVF as the solution but instead things becomes complicated.
The story is about two different couples who when trying to have a baby got into a complicated situation because they had the same surname "Batra ". There is Deepti and Varun Batra, a successful couple who lived a posh life. Although, not so much of a big deal to Varun as he is the type of man who doesn't seem to care much about the situation rather he believes they would have a baby when the time comes.
Well, not for his wife Deepti, who would do anything to make sure they have one, owing to the fact that she isn't getting younger. She would ask him to come home early during her ovulation period so they could have sex...you know how it is during ovulation period, higher chance of getting pregnant. But still no Good Newwz...so following the advice of a relative they opt for IVF (In-vitro fertilization). The other couple Honey and Monika Batra, are also well to do but are the loud type who would always be in people's face. Unlike the other Batras who never had a baby, Monika always had miscarriages any time she got pregnant, which also prompted the option of IVF.
The short and tall of it all is that they both went to the same clinic for the IVF but the sperm of both men got mixed up...and hell got loose.
Good Newwz is an entertaining and hilarious movie with funny characters like Akshay Kumar. You see lots of funny and touching moments that would keep you glued to your screen. The movie was able to deliver a sensitive topic such as IVF in a very mild and comedic way making it so easy for the audience to relate well. The two couples reminds you of the people around us, some are very posh and organised while the some are so loud and take the day as it comes.
Kareena Kapoor delivered a wonderful performance in her role as Deepti, acting posh mostly and the ways she goes about having a baby was fun to see...also towards the end of the movie where she talked about what mothers go through during pregnancy was very touching to watch. Ashkay Kumar did not also disappoint, his funny side was seen a lot in the first part of the movie...he did pretty well, I always like to see him in comedies. Diljit Sanjit and Kiara Advani also made the movie a worth watch as their screen time keeps you entertained.
The movie was an interesting and entertaining watch for me...very hilarious in most part and touching towards the end because the message of what mother's go through during pregnancy became very clear and I could totally feel that. If you are looking to see a movie, this is a good one...with subtitle.
