Good day to you Hivers, I'll like to tell you all about my most favourite movie franchise, John Wick.
From the first day I watched John Wick, that was sometime in 2014, I fell in love with the movie. I didn't really know Keanu Reeves then, to me he was just some guy that starred in The Matrix. I had actually seen the movie because I heard Bridget Regan (Legend Of The Seeker) was there, although I found out later it was a minor role. I saw the movie, and I've not regretted it for a second.
One thing I love about the movie is the action which goes very well with the character Keanu portrays. The story was well built, so that when we were told he went on a killing spree to avenge his murdered dog, it was believable. I loved how they showed the love between man and dog, and how much the dog meant to him as a parting gift from his dead wife. And as a huge fan of action, I loved how he went after the killers of his dog.
Like others, I felt that was the end. Until Lionsgate studios dropped a sequel in 2017. This time, I saw the movie because I was really interested. And my mind was blown. The action got fiercer, the fights bloodier, and the gun battle was on flick. And to crown it all, the movie ended on a cliff hanger, letting us know there be yet another installment in the franchise which would come to be John Wick: Parabellum.
And still vintage John Wick, they delivered the action hot. From sword welding ninjas, to motorcycle chasers. The idea behind these concepts was just maddening, I doff my cap for the creators. And like Chapter 2, they ended it on a cliff hanger as well.
And now , there's talk of a fourth installment by next year, not too sure of the date yet, but I hope it's really soon. Because I just can't wait. I need Babayega back on screen.
Judging by the past installments, I hope this next one would exceed expectations. Yes, I have high hopes.
