Antes de empezar con este post tengo que decir que si estas buscando una película cursi, llena de navidad y de paso ver que Lindsay Lohan está de regreso, quizá Navidad de golpe sea una buena opción para ti , pero eso sí no le prestes demasiada atención a la trama o los efectos especiales. En este post les hablare con honestidad sobre que pensé al ver esta película de Netflix.
Navidad de golpe, nos cuenta la historia de Sierra, una chica rica y mimada que jamás en su vida ha tenido un trabajo o que verdaderamente valora la vida, un día tiene un accidente en el cual se golpea fuertemenete en la cabeza perdiendo la memoria y es Jake, un hombre honesto que tiene una pequeña posada en el pueblo, quién la ayuda y le ofrece hospedaje hasta que alguien la encuentre o ella recupere su memoria; todo esto se desarrolla en visperas de navidad.
Before I start with this post I have to say that if you are looking for a cheesy movie, full of Christmas and by the way see that Lindsay Lohan is back, maybe Falling for Christmas is a good option for you , but just don't pay too much attention to the plot or the special effects. In this post I will talk to you honestly about what I thought when I saw this Netflix movie.
Falling for Christmas, tells the story of Sierra, a rich and spoiled girl who has never had a job in her life or who truly values life, one day she has an accident in which she is hit hard in the head losing her memory and it is Jake, an honest man who has a small inn in town, who helps her and offers her lodging until someone finds her or she recovers her memory; all this takes place on Christmas Eve.

Ahora bien, con este pequeño resumen sin spoilers, ustedes pueden predecir esta historia porque esta llena de todos los clichés de romance, de película de navidad, es como una película a base de otras, pero es una película que inevitablemenente te saca una sonrisa y esto creo que se debe a toda la vibra navideña que tiene, por un momento me transporto a mi casa con mi mamá que ama las películas navideñas cliches viendola en una tarde-noche.
La trama de esta película es completamente predecible e incluso siento que carece como de ritmo, por ejemplo Sierra cae y su novio Tad también, ella es vista y rescatada pero él no, toman caminos separados y realmente la vista de Tad en la trama a veces se siente muy mal pegada, es como que de pronto se acuerdan y lo enfocan. Por otro lado, no puedo evitar decir que cada minuto que pasa Sierra intentando recobrar memoria es todo un cliché que en alguna parte te saca una sonrisa.
Esta historia realmente no aporta demasiado a lo que ya conocemos, pero siento que es una historia que disfrutas porque al menos en mi caso yo sabía que ya sería predecible y cliche pero es una película como para colocarla de fondo mientras adornas tu casa de navidad o haces alguna actividad porque eso si, transmite muchas vibras navideñas, en esto siento que acierta muchísimo.
Now with this little spoiler free summary, you can predict this story because it is full of all the cliché romance, Christmas movie clichés, it is like a movie based on others, but it is a movie that inevitably brings a smile to your face and this I think is due to all the Christmas vibe it has, for a moment I was transported back home with my mom who loves cliché Christmas movies watching it on a late night.
The plot of this movie is completely predictable and I even feel like it lacks like rhythm, for example Sierra falls and so does her boyfriend Tad, she is seen and rescued but he is not, they go their separate ways and really the sight of Tad in the plot at times feels very badly tacked on, it's like they suddenly remember and focus on him. On the other hand, I can't help but say that every minute Sierra spends trying to regain memory is all a cliché that somewhere brings a smile to your face.
This story doesn't really add much to what we already know, but I feel it's a story that you enjoy because at least in my case I knew it would be predictable and cliché but it's a movie to put in the background while you decorate your Christmas house or do some activity because yes, it transmits a lot of Christmas vibes, in this I feel it gets it right.

Ahora, hablemos de lo que si le dio un aspecto como de película con bajo presupuesto a esta cinta son los efectos especiales, en muchas escenas se nota MUY falso, hasta el humo de navidad o la nieve se ve muy mal, me recuerda a las películas piratas que consigues en YouTube.
Los personajes de esta película también son un punto que no me agrado tanto, es que sientes como que no hay desarrollo o que son demasiado planos. Sierra si tiene un desenlace bonito, pero incluso su desarrollo se siente muy forzado y que nuevamente cae en cliches, Jake se siente bueno todo el tiempo y no es que eso este mal, pero siento que tampoco tiene un buen matiz.
Ahora, un personaje que me gusto 0 fue Tad, y es que en especial su personaje es demasiado falso y exagerado, cada que lo ves en la pantalla provoca lanzarle cosas. Aby es un personaje que derramaba dulce y me gusto, siento que es una de mis favoritas, pero nuevamente es como el tipico personaje de una película cliché de navidad.
Now, let's talk about what gave this film a low budget movie look, the special effects, in many scenes it looks VERY fake, even the Christmas smoke or snow looks very bad, it reminds me of the pirate movies you get on YouTube.
The characters in this movie are also a point that I didn't like so much, you feel like there is no development or that they are too flat. Sierra does have a nice denouement, but even her development feels very forced and again falls into clichés, Jake feels good all the time and not that that's bad, but I feel like he doesn't have a good nuance either.
Now, one character that I liked 0 was Tad, and that is especially his character is too fake and exaggerated, every time you see him on screen he provokes you to throw things at him. Aby is a character that spilled candy and I liked her, I feel she is one of my favorites, but again she is like the typical character of a cliché Christmas movie.

Una Navidad de Golpe, es una película para sentir las vibras navideñas, que es completamente predecible, en algunos momentos la sientes muy dispersa y sin sentido pero al final del día es como para pasar el rato navideño sin prestarle atención a los detalles, como les comente iniciando este post es mejor para dejarla de fondo mientras haces otras cosas y no esperar mucho de ella. No será mi película navideña favorita pero tampoco la odio a pesar de que tiene muchos aspectos negativos.
Una nota que quiero dejar al final, es que me gusto tener a Lindsay Lohan de vuelta, siento que es el engache de esta película porque inevitablemente sientes nostalgia de verla de regreso y aunque su actuación no fue la mejor en esta cinta, espero ver más de ella.
Falling for Christmas, it's a movie to feel the Christmas vibes, it's completely predictable, in some moments it feels very scattered and meaningless but at the end of the day it's like to pass the Christmas time without paying attention to the details, as I said at the beginning of this post it's better to leave it in the background while you do other things and don't expect much from it. It won't be my favorite Christmas movie but I don't hate it either even though it has many negative aspects.
One note I want to leave at the end, is that I liked having Lindsay Lohan back, I feel that she is the hook of this movie because you inevitably feel nostalgic to see her back and although her performance was not the best in this movie, I hope to see more of her.
